I still don't get why they don't see that it is possible for some small number of Al Qaeda operatives to plan terrorist attacks in the U.S. even if we are in Iraq.

Why they think being in Iraq assures that this won't happen astounds me.

It is so obviously untrue. It only takes 10-20 people and they can steer clear of Iraq and plan the attacks.

The relationship between the war in Iraq and preventing terrorist attacks just does not exist, yet every right wing nut seems to be sure that our being in Iraq somehow forces Al Qaeda to go there to fight us. It just doesn't. Even if some or most of them do, a few can stay back somewhere else and plan a big attack.

It just defies even freeper logic.
