Even though the TSA issue is very important, I hope it does not delete the focus from the |
|
ineffective leadership of the new majority in the House on financial reform, health care, missile oversight, DADT, DREAM ACT, payroll equality, unemployment benefits, climate change, tax extensions and much more.

mind boggeling. These guys in DC better sit their asses in their offices and get to work.
What the hell do they do all day, think of ways to much up the system, do lunch with their favorite lobbyists, leave early like Boner and grab a few cocktails.
When I worked I got ass reamed if I was 2 minutes late. And no, the fact that someone dove in front of the train and committed sucide wasn't a valid excuse. I should have left the station and taken the bus. Or make like JC and walk across the river.

2. Well, to be fair, didn't the Republicans vote against the airport screening machines? |
|
Did I hear that?
Even if they did, I'm sure it's because Obama was for it, had nothing to do with "doing the right thing".
I don't think this will take away from the real issues, the Dems will keep trying to forward these issues so they'll be in the news. I hope.
I don't want this issue to go away, though, until they come up with a better alternative. If the administration gets egg on their faces, so be it (although I HATE to even say that) but this is something that needs to be addressed. Because, what's next?

3. They voted against the whole stimulus package. |
|
I understand the machines were a tiny part of it.

4. Ah. Of course they're spinning it now to say they voted against THIS. They |
|
probably didn't even know it was contained in the package!

But why are these extreme safety procedures being used on flights within the USA?
Then again, there is the guy with the explosives in his garden :(

6. It's really hard to predict what will get legs and when |

I screamed about the TSA and the potential dangers and humiliations of the backscatter full body scanners when they were first being rolled out. Couldn't get anyone to listen. Now it's the hot topic and I'm not sure what changed. Since the TSA desperately needs to be reined in on their fascist tendencies, I'm riding this wave. But as each of these others gets legs, I'll be on them as well.
