I'm still laughing at Sarah Palin's insipid remark!
Edited on Sun Nov-21-10 10:22 PM by glarius
I was just watching Palin's reality show about Alaska. My family and I watch it for laughs.
Tonight she took her family on a fishing boat to catch halibut. One of the things they have to do when they land the fish is to beat it between the eyes when they unhook it and it's lying on the deck. This, apparently is so it won't flop around and bruise it's flesh and make itself less attractive to those who buy it. Sarah cut out the heart in a fish and saw it was still beating.
Bristol's job (which she obviously hated) was to do the beating.....anyhoooo....Afterward, Sarah Palin actually said, wistfully, "this is a mother daughter moment I'll remember forever!"
It's hard to believe this woman is for real.
Being a mother myself, I can't imagine a more touching mother daughter moment. LOL

1. That's redundant
"Sarah Palin's insipid remark"

You could leave out the word insipid, and the meaning wouldn't be changed. By definition, a Sarah Palin remark is insipid.

2. My point is the fact that beating fish to death is her idea of sharing moments with her kid. n/t

3. I get your point
I was just being snarky. I actually kind of enjoyed the show for about 15 minutes. It has a certain trainwreck appeal. I just cannot handle her voice for long. I think she could do voice over for the movie Fargo and nobody would notice.

20. Why are so many
giving her the time of day?

She is in the spotlight as long as keeps getting the attention and people keep giving it to her

15. Careful editing during the trap shooting as well
They showed clays getting knocked down and they showed her holding a shotgun before and after but they never actually showed her firing the shotgun, unlike hubby and the kid. Poseur.

10. I was told that knocking the fish out
was more humane than letting it suffocate. It dies while unconscious. Anyone else heard of this?
What little I've seen of this "show" makes it all look staged and that Saraw isn't as comfortable doing all this outdoor stuff as she'd like us to believe. :puke:

16. Look, if a man (GWB) can live a politically staged life from the moment
he was taken out of the jar, to his zenith (mission accomplished) moment and Poppy can vomit on the Japanese PM (at the time) then I see no reason why a woman can't come along and take total advantage of the FOOLS out there (men and women) that LOVE the behavior witnessed by said crazy people. She is just cashing in on the simpletons that made her a political darling. No, not McCain...if you listen closely you can still hear him banging his head against a brick wall somewhere...

18. I can't stand to watch her on tv because she degrades women every time she talks.
It's like watching someone doing a parody of her, except it is the real thing.
It bugs the crap out of me that her show has such high ratings.
Like people can't get enough of the stupid.

22. Perhaps most people are watching her to see just how ridiculous
and pathetic she can get. That's why I watch her. It's not that I can't get enough of her. It's just that there's such a shortage of comedy on TV these days, and her antics are good for a laugh.
