That is the stuff of legends- I'd only read about it from American teachers, teaching in Japan.

I had no idea...Like the colossal squid, the Japanese Ass Stab is equal parts legend and fear.

I have no idea what the Japanese call it, probably a word with lots of vowels and k's. But what he did was not something random: It's seriously a part of Japanese culture.

It's called Kancho. There's a Wikipedia entry for it.

In America, we call this forced sodomy and it's punishable by at least a few months in jail. Apparently it's a very common "practical joke" in Japan. I know it sounds unbelievable but there are a lot of expats I'd read stories of who learned to guard their asses.
