1. Hey, let's start a trend now, STOP TALKING ABOUT THE PALINS
Geez, enough already. If we would simply ignore these people, they would go away. But we have to constantly see what they're doing, be outraged by what they're doing, navel gaze about what they're doing, and frankly every time we do, every bit attention we give them, good or bad, simply continues to fuel their run in the spotlight.

Enough about the Palins, let them slip into much deserved obscurity.

4. I understand your point... but in a way, this is making them like the Kardashians.
Yes, everyone is a fan of Kim's ass, but they recognize that she is utterly vapid and would never vote for her for any elected office.

I think the same things about the Palins. The more they are out there, the more they say stupid things and turn the rational people of this country against them. The more attention she's gotten, the more her poll numbers have dropped.

Not that I care, really. just sayin...

6. And just how has that worked out for you so far?
Gee, we tried this tactic during 2008 and ever since, and though she did fail to get into office, Palin and her family have not faded away after the election, but have grown even more in stature and power, and is now thinking of a 2012 run.

Don't you get it, any sort of attention, good, bad or ugly, that you give these grifters is simply free publicity. It doesn't matter if you're stating that Sarah eats baby seals and squeezes fresh caught kittens for her breakfast juice, IT IS STILL FREE PUBLICITY! And it keep them in the spotlight, gives them a national voice.

Just let these idiots be, that's the worse thing that you can do to them. Don't give them free publicity, don't give them a national voice, simply let them fade back into the backwoods obscurity they came from.

8. Easy, killer. As I said, her "popularity" has dropped like a rock.
So that part has worked out ok.

The more the people are exposed to her, the less they like her. Nothing terrifies me more than a Palin Presidency. In my estimation, the BEST thing she could do for her career is get off the TV except for serious speaking opportunities where she can read from a script and improve her image from complete imbecile to mere dullard.

The WORST thing she can do for herself is appear on non-serious entertainment type venues where she can't disguise the snowbilly in her or her offspring. She wasn't credible before and thanks to these tv appearances, she's even LESS credible now.

So, I'm just saying... I think there's an upside to this that maybe you're not considering.

And whether we talk about her here on DU or not is irrelevant. She is determined to never go away... not when there's money to be made.

But we're all on the same team here MadHound. We just hate the Palins each in our own special ways.

:hi:

2. Was Sarah In The Audience Of DWTS Yesterday?......
Seems to me she should have been there to mug for the camera's as Bristol walked away with a win - that's kind of her MO.

If she didn't show up yesterday - is it because she had prior knowledge that Bristol wasn't going to win? Or didn't she want to relish in her daughter's success? Wouldn't she want to be there to console her daughter in case she didn't win?

I thought I saw her at a book signing yesterday. If that be the case then I guess she wasn't in the audience.

You would think that she would have postponed the book signing a day - to be with her daughter.

What's up here? Doesn't she love her daughter? Is she jealous of her daughter success? Hmmmm...... just asking.

5. This is not the start, but the confirmation of a strong trend..
Two years in the spotlight, one lost national election, one discarded Governorship, the plunging ratings and pitiful demographics of the reality show, and now third place while Tea Bag Nation tried to fix the vote. The fact is, Sarah's nomination was the pinnacle, and since that night it has been a constant downward arc.

9. Let the show run its course - It will harm her more than help her
She's already given her republican primary opponents a great soundbite about how she would rather be out enjoying the natural wonders of Alaska than in working in an office somewhere. That's going to be featured in every anti-Palin commercial during the primaries.
