We're friends IRL. He also expressed my issue much more clearly than I did.
On edit: It definitely depends on who your asking. By some people's standards here, I might as well be a Republican because I haven't washed my hands of Obama (although I'm getting unhappier with him by the day). But, among the people with whom I interact daily, I'm a raging socialist. Nevertheless, I still used to fit somewhere under the tent.

Our party is a coalition of concerns. There isn't one interest or faction of our party which can generate enough support on its own to get us to a majority; or can garner enough electoral votes to hold the presidency.
