Al Gore On The Daily Show And Letterman were GREAT
Edited on Fri May-25-07 05:53 AM by RestoreGore
Finally, interviews that actually surrounded the topics he wrote about! Jon Stewart is a gem, and deserves kudos for actually having a show that relays news albeit with a twist of humor, but nevertheless, he is doing what network news has been anesthesized to doing. I must say that Mr. Gore looks GOOD in black and he was so loose and comfortable that it is plain to see that he is doing it his way now and it definitely agrees with him. Thank you to Jon Stewart, our modern "court jester" as Mr. Gore referred to, for at least having the decency to keep the discussion on topic. And I was actually laughing at the guy who screamed, "run for president" like a crazy when Mr. Gore went to sit down because of the look on his face as if to say, enough already.

As for David Letterman, again another appearance where the climate crisis was actually discussed and where he was allowed to be himself instead of being pushed into discussing what he seems to be uncomfortable discussing, and the link between The Assault On Reason and the climate crisis. After all, that is why Mr. Gore stated he wrote this book... because after trying for thirty years to get this out with no headway you start to wonder what is happening when it takes that long to get a message out. I am currently reading the Assault On Reason and it is a must read book for anyone who cares about this country and what WE can now do to save her from the excesses we have allowed to take control of our process. Thanks for that, Mr. Gore. Thanks for being our conscience.

14. My President, as well! Imagine what he could do about global warming if he was POTUS. Actually, I
get sad when I think of where we would be if he had taken his rightly place in the WH, and we had not had 6 years of this psychopath. Imagine.

8. I thought Gore rambled a little too much on Letterman.
Like he was having a big internal struggle with how blunt to be and where to focus his comments.
(Please note I'm on record here at DU as huge Gore fan. I just didn't think it was one of his better appearances.)

I think that when given the opportunity to talk about his passion, he doesn't know where to start and wants to get it all in.

11. Ever notice
The people that do well on John's show are people that actually have things to say. There is actually something beneath the topic at hand. Almost like they actually know what they are talking about. The people that bomb on John's show and Colbert even more, are the people that's knowledge ends with the Daily talking points memo. It's no surprise John does well when people ask him questions and given him time to explain his positions, because well he is a man of substance. Now John Bolton...
