5. I'd think the CD collection alone would probably be reason enough to stay away from it.
And there's probably some cheesy-ass plastic angel hanging from the rear view mirror.

The mind shudders.

WASHINGTON—Still think the U.S. attorneys scandal is just partisan froth whipped up by disingenuous Democrats? Still think Alberto Gonzales is in any way, shape or form qualified to serve as attorney general? ......

Ousted Inspector General Graves - Says Monica Lied

Graves gets office’s support
Inspector general’s statement casts doubt on official’s version of prosecutor’s ouster.
By DAVE HELLING
The Kansas City Star

...............

On Wednesday, former Justice Department official Monica Goodling said that Graves’ being forced out of office in early 2006 “related more to the fact that he was under investigation by the inspector general.”

But she did not say and was not asked what the investigation had involved.

16. Another YouTube request. Lundgren's final questions re Coyotes & Feinstein
Lundgren cut her off as she was saying Domenici was a "political" case, and inserts the Feinstein letter issue.

This is another "a la Cheney and the NY Times" dirty trick. There were false allegations against Lam made when she was prosecuting Medicare fraud, before the Cunningham case arises, I believe. The false "immigration" allegations against Lam needs further criminal inquiry. These cases have only just recently, in these hearings, been renamed "coyote" cases.

The Rs are fostering Google searches leading to the DU threads on Medicare fraud and Lam---those include L. Coyote ---by renaming the issue a "coyote" issue.

19. Most important excerpt. Just before Rep Maxine Waters, was that Keller
pointing out what I have been saying on DU? The effort to "dirty trick" Carol Lam with false immigration allegations predates Cunningham. The Medicare fraud investigation was the reason that Lam became a hate/disinformation target, and this aspect of her firing needs to be fully investigated.

20. Now ISSA is working the cover-up to, obfuscating Lam and Medicare fraud
using the false information. Note how carefully all this is parsed, including the question's careful qualifier that allows Gooling to make a claim that gives the impression that something else was asserted. Parse-lies, parse-lies.

Lam prosecuting her own cases: This is Tenet Healthcare/Alvarado and now it is being called "grandstanding." This guy is very complicitous!! in the cover-up.

21. Bribery in the Beltway, Rep. Darrell ISSA & "less be spent on public corruption"
Bribery in the Beltway
April 2, 2007
By Laton McCartney
http://www.baselinemag.com/print_article2/0,1217,a=204379,00.asp

A year after U.S. Congressman Randall "Duke" Cunningham was sentenced to prison in one the biggest federal information-technology scandals ever, details about the case continue to emerge.

At this juncture, however, it is unlikely that any further legal action will be taken. Just two days after she announced the indictment of Wilkes, U.S. Attorney Carol Lam, who oversaw the Cunningham probe, was fired, along with seven other U.S. attorneys, by the Justice Department. A number of her critics, including Rep. Darrell Issa, a Vista, Calif., Republican, said that Lam should have done more to pursue border crimes and focused less on white-collar malfeasance. Lam has declined all requests for interviews.

If Lam had been allowed to stay on, however, some government watchdogs believe further investigation would have been put on hold. "I think that even if Lam had remained as U.S. Attorney, the investigation would have reached a point where difficult questions about scope and resources would have had to have been addressed," says Scott Lilly. " Justice Department is not likely to be rushing to ensure that the resources necessary to answer those questions will be forthcoming. In fact, Congressman Issa's insistence and the DOJ's apparent concurrence that more should be spent on illegal immigration and gun crimes has a clear corollary, that less be spent on public corruption. As a result, questions that might have been answered under the stewardship of one U.S. Attorney may go unanswered by a different U.S. Attorney."

26. Issa to testify on Lam firing. ISSA blames Democratic U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein
Issa to testify on Lam firing
By: WILLIAM FINN BENNETT - Staff Writer
http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2007/03/06/news/top_stories/1_01_443_5_07.txt

NORTH COUNTY -- U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa will testify Tuesday at one of two congressional hearings addressing the firing of former San Diego U.S. Attorney Carol Lam and a handful of other U.S. attorneys.

The hearings come in the wake of pressure from Democrats who have raised questions about whether the recent sacking of Lam and the other U.S. attorneys was politically motivated.

Issa has been one of the chief critics of the Yale-educated Lam, .......Starting in early 2004, Issa and other Republican members of Congress began sending letters to Lam and the attorney general's office complaining about the job she was doing.

Issa, who will testify before a House panel, said he takes "maybe one twentieth" of the credit for Lam's dismissal, adding that he believes that California Democratic U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein also played a role.

........Feinstein's office continues to maintain the dismissal was political. In late February, Feinstein sent a letter to Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid, in which she noted the Justice Department had given Lam and five of the other fired U.S. attorneys positive performance reviews.

23. CREW: Issa’s leak to CNN contributed to ire over Lam
Issa also is covering up for Issa's own "a la Cheney and the NY Times" planted false information!

The question is, Was there an early effort to punish Lam for going after BIG GOP benefactors prosecuted for Medicare fraud?

======================
Issa’s leak to CNN contributed to ire over Lam
http://www.citizensforethics.org/node/25831

23 Mar 2007 // Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) release of an anonymously authored Border Patrol report to CNN’s Lou Dobbs last year led to growing resentment of former U.S. Attorney Carol Lam within the Department of Justice (DoJ) seven months before she was fired, according to administration e-mails released Wednesday night.

Issa had been criticizing Lam’s prosecution of illegal-immigrant smuggling since as early as 2004 and had written several letters to her and the DoJ inquiring about their guidelines for prosecuting repeat human-smuggling offenders. DoJ had taken note of Issa’s concerns, even preparing talking points for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to use in answering any potential questions Issa may have had during an April 2006 House Judiciary hearing.

But tensions among DoJ officials toward Lam appeared to spike after Issa leaked a report claiming that the lack of border-smuggling prosecutions was lowering morale in the Border Patrol agency to Dobbs and appeared on his show lambasting Lam for lax immigration prosecutions. .......

Issa spokesman Frederick Hill said the timing of the release was not related to the Cunningham investigation in any way. Issa had been criticizing Lam to reporters months before the release to CNN and as early as January had been planning to release the report to the media pending requested Congressional Research Service data, according to e-mails Issa’s office provided to The Hill.

Edited on Fri May-25-07 04:07 PM by L. Coyote
Who in Homeland Security (according to Issa) was violating the law by providing false and misleading information about USA Lam. Better investigate this Alberto!

=========================================
... Lam said that “Issa has been misled” and denounced the Border Patrol report as an altered and unauthorized version of an old report issued by a single substation.

Issa countered in later press reports that he had received the document from a source at the Homeland Security Department ....
