A suggestion to honor Elizabeth Edwards |
|
I have changed my avatar to the pink breast cancer ribbon to honor Elizabeth, and all who are stricken with it.
Cancer, of any form, is a monster. So many lives and loved ones lost.
Relentless for the Cure.

Thank you...I was very relieved to get my mammogram results on Saturday and know that I'm okay for another year.
I've lost too many friends to breast cancer.

Each year gets a little scarier as we age.

5. Hard year for our family. Last year, I was diagnosed with early stage I breast cancer |

(taken early enough. Tests from last week were totally fine).
This summer, my sister was diagnosed too. She is going through chemotherapy.
My heart is with Elizabeth Edwards and her children in this difficult time.
BTW, if you are a woman, dont forget your mammogram.

I think that's the first time I've changed my avatar in, like, four years.
One of my favorite co-workers has it too. She's had surgery, now in her 4th week of chemo. She doesn't want people to know; she's gradually telling people one by one in private and asking them all to keep it quiet. I respect her wishes; she's an introvert and doesn't want to deal with intrusive questions, however well-meaning. This stuff is HARD to talk about.
It shouldn't be. We should all be able to get the care we need, regardless of specific condition or financial status.
