If he can just keep the filibuster going until say the day before Christmas Eve, that would probably be long enough. The rest of them will want to go home for the holidays and probably cut it out early if they get tired of him. I wish Robert Byrd was alive and in good shape. He was great at filibustering. :evilgrin:

you think a deal made by the president can't get 60 votes when every republican will vote yes? It may earn Bernie some more political points with the bleeding edge of the left, but will have no impact on whether it gets passed. This is just another one of those issues people will bitch and moan about a few weeks and mostly forget it ever happened after the next political fight occurs. So people who paid 36% income tax this year will pay 36% next, who gives a shit if it isn't you... and if it is you, maybe you'll be more likely to invest it in riskier assets than you were before the announcement.
