I'm having a hard time vocalizing...
how incredibly frustrated and angry I am right now. I was having a chat with my adviser today, and he said the same thing. I've become more leftist as I go (thus my aggravation might seem misguided to some on DU, and I get that). I realize that Obama was not the pie-in-the-sky savior some hoped he would be, but for the love of pete, I expected more than this.

When the government comes calling for my student loans next year, I am already planning to tell them to go ask the rich fuckers who got a tax break to pay them for me, and while they're at it, they can create a job for me. That's the logic behind giving the rich a tax cut, right? To create jobs? Well... My PhD (which I'll have in mere months) may not get me anywhere.

1. It all sucks, but I would like to congratulate you on your forthcoming PhD. That was
mostly what Alan Greenspan harped on, not enough education, Americans need education ... as my friends and I looked at our degrees as we were laid off.

2. I know exactly how you feel.....
I'm on my third deferrment from my student loan to get my Master's.....
and I have been searching for 2 years to get a job in my field...no go.
I'm scraping together odd jobs to pay the bills, but certainly not enough to
pay my student loan debt. I like your idea of asking the rich f's for help!
