The minimum wage increase appears part of the War funding bill.
When George W bush signs the war funding bill into law, it will include the 2 year increase of the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour and large giveaways to business owners that appeared required to get a meager minimum wage increase.

1. This practice needs to be reconsidered.
One bill= ONE ISSUE. 100 pages or LESS.

2. No kidding.
Why couldn't we just pass a simple minimum wage increase by itself because the working poor can't make it on $5.25 per hour?

8. They're not dead yet so obviously they can survive.
Is the :sarcasm: tag really necessary here?

3. And a HUGH giveaway to the Republics
Now they can say "we finally shamed the Demo-rats into funding the troops and helping the workers".

The Democratic leadership just gave away the store.

5. Now we know who the Dems are counting on.
Throw a bone to the minimum wage earners and piss on those that got them elected.

12. They should've made minimum wage higher
If they're going to tie it into the war funding bill, make the minimum wage $10 an hour and dare bush to veto the bill that he says he needs passed in order to fund the troops.
