Said he'd rather not see people hunting with Uzis, but also said "This is the West" and he himself is a gun owner.

1. Sanity... thank god
No wonder he's not leading.

I heard he's corporatist-leaning, though. I don't know; maybe he'd be a nice intermediate stage between Bush and the more traditional liberals.

3. Well, Bill Clinton was also corporatist-leaning, too...
There's still plenty of work to do on that front. But yes, Bill Richardson's approach on guns is like a breath of fresh air for the Democratic Party.

2. He was honest and human and reasonable.
He did a great job today. I wish Timmy-boy had interviewed Dick Cheney as hard as he did Richardson--rather than capitulate to the *ss.

Richardson said that the Congress should be attempting to use the War Powers Act to end this war and that they were wasting their time when attempting to use the supplemental budget as the catalyst to end the war.

4. Agreed. Richardson did well. Timmy did his usual "gotcha"
routine, but Richardson stayed on top of it. I especially liked his clear and unambiguous position: Get out of Iraq in 2007. Leave no residual troops. He said that if he had been in Congress he would have voted NO to the Bush capitulation.

My dream ticket remains: President Gore; Vice President Richardson.

5. Russert came loaded for bear
Richardson kept his cool but some of the questions made him sweat. He does come off as a regular guy.
