About "supporting the troops"
I have a hard time understanding our soldiers and their families. The people on the LEFT are the ones who care about them.....care about their safety so much so that we would rather them be HOME and out of that civil war in Iraq.

WE are the ones who worry about them having enough body armour and equipment they need. WE are the ones who are always pushing for better health care for them.

WE are the ones who's hearts get crushed every time we see or read about them getting killed and or maimed.

WE are the ones out there protesting for this illegal war to end so they can come home to be with their families again.

WE are the ones making all the phone calls, signing petitions, writing letters, writing to the newspapers and blogging endlessly trying our best to help them get out of this no end in sight situation. The list goes on and on and on......but yet EVERY SINGLE TIME I see one of them or their family members on TV.... WE are the ones who always gets slammed and treated like their no.1 enemy.

Why is that? Why do they always take it the wrong way? They act like we are against THEM,when in reality it's the BUSH BASTARDS we are against....not them.

Why is it that the only way you can support the troops is to wave a flag and get pissed off at the people who are trying to get them HOME? I have seen more than one family member in front of the camera this week-end making their little subliminal remarks where you can read between the lines. It's always a subtle slur to the people who are protesting this insanity.

I am so sick of worrying about them, only to be trashed in the media by them. Most of the military hates Liberals and for WHAT? Because we don't believe in KILLING?That we would rather live in PEACE and get along with other people in other countries? Why is THAT so bad?

The troops get pissed off when they hear about any of us protesting this stupid war,but it's only THEM we are thinking about. The logic in this country is so twisted and fucked up it's unreal. I am sick of it all. Sometimes I think to myself..."why should I even care"?

2. the country is slowly changing
I was thinking tonight about April 2004 when the Sinclair networks refused to air the names of the then 533 dead soldiers killed in Iraq on Nightline. The nation refused to look at the war, and to even acknowledge the deaths was deemed "not supportive of the troops". It was quite a change from this week-end where all the networks are falling all over themselves with names, photos, life stories, and interviews with the families of the fallen.
