Technically, there is not much left of "himself" to look at -- I keep thinking that it's going to dissolve soon (like the cartoon figures in the original "Who Censored Roger Rabbit?" novel).

10. Actually you are wrong, they died for big oil, specifically the Saudi lock on OPEC |
|
It may not have been what was sold to them, but it is the fact
The whole point of this war was to keep oil high. They miscalculated though, because the Shia now have control of Iraq, and that may most likely mean Iran, which would give them power against the Saudis in OPEC
When Cheney was called to Saudi Arabia at Thanksgiving, he was given in no uncertain terms, the U.S. better not pull out of Iraq, because of the oil cartel, NOT becasue of their Sunni brothers
After 9/11, I believe Kerry and McCain co-sponsered a bill to raise the fuel standards on cars. It was widely defeated.
None of this is a coincidence with big oil in the White House, and their influence in Congress

19. They may not be in vain |
|
If this country ever wakes up to the fact that we have suffered a coup in our leadership, then maybe - just maybe - their deaths are not in vain. If this country continues to accept their deaths as an honorable sacrifice for this country, then they died in vain. We are slaughtering our military by sending them over there for a lie.

But don't forget that Congress gave the bastard the powers and have put us into massive debt funding his mass killing for lies. They bear the guilt too. What is their excuse???

22. You've just made a Value Judgement you have no right to make for other people. |
|
You are entitled to your opinion on the lives and deaths of other people.
But you speak from a very limited perspective.
From the widest perspective, I'd say that as the individual deaths add up, each was necessary to stop the USA's slide into facism and the insatiable lust too many of our leaders have had for world domination.

24. Oh, sure, they died in the Fight Against Incipient Fascism, and their deaths were NECESSARY. |
|
Edited on Mon May-28-07 07:49 PM by Redstone
God, spare me. Tell that to their families, would you? I bet that'll comfort the families a whole bunch.
You said: "...each (death) was necessary..."
Little bit of value judgement on your part right there?
Christ, your post is even more cynical than what bush said. I never thought I'd ever see ANYONE be more callous about our dead soldiers than bush is, but you just managed to be.
Human beings. Your countrymen and women, not to mention all those Iraqis, including hundreds, if not thousands, of children. They're dead. And it's OK, because it's "necessary."
Necessary? Not to me, it isn't.

for nothing. I'm sure that will make them feel better. After all, your little rant made YOU feel better or not.
And it seems you can't handle an historical perspective.
But we find societies and individuals always needing a certain amount of pain before they get off their asses to deal with problems.
That is just the way Life is.

39. It would beat the hell out of telling them that is was NECESSARY. Plus, they already know. |
|
And I have enough historical perspective to know that it's not up to ME (nor is it up to you) to tell anyone that they have to die because it's "necessary."
Who appointed you God, that you should decide who dies because it's "necessary?"

23. They did die for NOTHING |
|
We are no safer , we are much poorer and we all know the mission is for the big oil grab and planned chaos .
Bush has done nothing but lie and talk about flip flopping , there is no better example other than bush .
Many more will now die with the help of the DEMs grand folding , if their plan was for political gain then they are no better than the repubs who brought us this murderous madness . If they can;t stand up for the troops then they are cowards .
What the people of this country as well as the politicians should be asked and be required to answer is , is it worth all the lives lost just to continue to drive your car because this is really what it's all about . Blood and ruin for oil , the entire thing from day one makes me sick .
