We'll regret not having a Biden ticket in the fall |
|
I'm convinced of that now.
barack obama will lose this election if he runs on a platform of "wanting to make nice" with karl rove.
hillary is going to get the GOP out in force.
and I've actually been looking at john edwards lately, but he's been getting the "Biden" treatment from the MSM. the same way they left Biden out, edwards was the next to go.
if one of the two front runner idiots had any brains, they'd go with hat in hands to joe and beg him to be their running mate. unfortunately, I have a feeling either one of them is going to pick a bad choice.
especially after seeing biden's rebuttle of the state of delusion speech last night. I'm more convinced now than ever that this election isn't going to be won by the republicans, but lost by "change" and "false experience."

considering Reps. use of 'talent' that can be paid for, and our 'confusion' because we really are OPEN.

2. I have no doubt that a lot of people will be thinking back to Biden and wondering |
|
why they didn't understand what he could bring to the Office.

4. 1st choice for some; 2nd choice for many... |
|
I skimmed an interesting article in Newsweek today - will try to find the link later. It talked about how our voting system (whoever gets the most votes, even if it's a small fraction of the total, wins) can end up with a nominee with whom most people are unhappy. In some cases, similar candidates split votes and a less popular candidate squeaks by. Even beyond run-off voting, if you can do ranked voting, or vote for all the "acceptable" candidates, or other ways of doing it, the result becomes more representative of the public at large. Will try to find the link some time but I'm off from some zzzzs.
Immediately made me think of Biden - he was the 2nd choice for so many in Iowa, constantly mentioned as someone people like, hope to get for VP or Sec of State, we know about his support from independents and moderate Republicans.
Given our broken system, rather than have the media and money pick, I would rather the Dem. leaders had picked Biden (or Dodd or Richardson) and one of the new kids as VP and forced that on us, saying, dammit, we need to win this election and we'll get all kinds of things done over the next 16 years. I'm hoping to turn my energy toward election and campaign finance reform...
