1. I saw that. Maybe Demommom or Murbley can shed some light onto that.

2. I think it reflects again the $$ thing.
My interpretation of the poll is that the majority of the voters believe that he would be a good president, they just do not think he can win the nomination running against the "Clinton machine" The northern part of the state and the beach areas are where his strength is. These are business people, and retired people, lawyers, refinery workers,
with a smattering of people like me and you. The southern part(where I live) is mostly big farmers, chicken growers, and BILL CLINTON WORSHIPERS. I'm neither by the way. Delaware is secure as a blue state,
but I think the main problem here is the amount of money needed, Hillary being Bill's wife(they think they are re-electing Bill) and also that Hillary would be the first woman president.
It's about power and money,(the Clinton's) not really about him.

I think his local people need to do some work in Delaware. I have been gathering a list of Delaware newspapers and as soon as I can get my thoughts together I am going to try to put together a letter to the editors in support of Joe and mail them off. Anyone want to help? Maybe letters from supporters in other parts of the country would wake up some Delawareans.

The up side is I hear a lot of folks ,as they do all over say " I will not vote for Hillary." I do know that Biden is well liked in Delaware. 35 years of being elected and re-elected speaks for that as well as his son Beau being comfortably elected Attorney General of our state. I'm not giving up as long as he doesn't.

3. Right on, murbley! I'm not giving up either!
And you KNOW you'll get no argument from me regarding $$$$ - that's been my mantra all along.

Interesting comment that it's a reflection about power and money - not about Joe. The Clintons do have that aura, don't they? Further evidenced by all the big name supporters who are signing on to back Hillary.

I watched clips of Hillary on Olbermann the other night, and she came across as so wooden and rehearsed. No warmth or sincerity. No spontanaeity. I mentioned on another thread that when Olbermann brought up the Graeme Frost sliming, her response was measured, appropriately chagrined, then turned into a pitch on why she should be President. I said had that question been asked of Biden, he would have gone BALLISTIC.

I sincerely think the best approach to your newspapers would be from native Delawareans. I personally wouldn't pay much attention from out of staters expressing their opinions - especially about MY Senator.

On second thought, an open letter to Delawareans from a sincere Biden supporter explaining why we, who AREN'T lucky enough to have him representing us in the Senate, view him as the best choice for our country. Maybe just present a different vantage point.

Hmmmm. What do you think?

4. I'm thinking we all need to start writing editorials to the paper.
Az dems are going for Hillary - ugh.
But this is McCain country, so he will probably take the state. BUT I'm not giving up.

I agree with Gateley - that in Delaware, the editorials should come from Delawareans. (is that what you're called?lol)

And I also agree that she was awful on Olbermann. Even when he asked her about Gore, she wouldn't give a straight answer.
Everytime I watch her on tv I find myself yelling "Just answer the question Hillary!"
I hope and pray that she does not win the nomination.

6. The interview was so dull and rehearsed
There is nothing appealing about her. I think too many voters, even in Delaware, may have bought the "inevitability" BS and think they have no choice.

8. Yes, Delawareans, Aren't you an Arizonian or not?
We are known as "The First State", The Diamond State",and or the "BlueHen
State". The "First State" is the one used most now. In the southern part of the state where I live we are referred to as "lower, slower Delaware", as in lifestyle.

7. Kudos to not giving up

the letters to editors from other states about sharing their jewel (Biden) With all of America would be the correct tack. I agree letters form other states criticizing my senator are dismissed outright. However letters urging their shared admiration might be a plus.

the money, and the perceived inevitability issues are difficult to overcome. insofar as the money it tells me She or He (Obama,Edwards) are paid for. Definite turn off for me.

Inevitability, well We all know Hillary is not Bill. Bill being around the white House does not confirm his ideas will be implemented. They are both too individual, (Bill & Hillary). I really don't think Bill had much say in Hillary's congressional decisions. So where does the idea Bill will be influential in the WH come from? ok from Hillary. thats just spin. as she touted time and again "Bill Does not influence my votes." now suddenly they are joined at the hip? I don't think so. How to expose that to others is the question.

Granted I would be in the Bill Clinton camp if we could elect him again. that simply is not the case this time around.

9. Unfortunately, one of the things we all appreciate about him ....
Edited on Sat Oct-13-07 11:13 AM by demommom
that he is not bought and paid for, becomes his biggest obstacle.
It seems that the thing that so many voters like to rant about; special interest and corporate money, is the easiest for them to ignore.
I swear, sometimes I think I live on another planet. For the last two cycles, the american voter has let the best candidates go by the wayside while they elect the likes of George Bush. Not once but twice, and they are about to do it again. No wonder many of the other countries think Americans are brain challenged. Oh well, what else can we do?
