:eyes: anybody need a kitten? I'm alergic....

But, I got to see the Chris Matthews show AND David Yepsen (yeah, I know) said the surprising thing coming out of Iowa will be that Biden is doing better than the polls are showing and that he will be competitive in the caucuses.

I don't know if there will be a transcript of the show

(Hey, I'm serious about those damn cats - this and spiders are the only reasons why I don't like living in the country! :hi:)

1. I have the same issue with cats here in Sacramento
I just found a home for two darling kittens. I have the sweetest family of cats in my yard, all of whom would LOVE to live inside my house, but I am allergic as well. So I feed them and give them as much attention as I can.

That is great about David Ypsen. Glad to know someone is paying attention. Was that part of Matthews "Tell me something I don't know?" segment?

2. Yes , it was that part of the show
another journalist said that Gore would be endorsing Obama w/in the next six weeks...but I think Yepsen has a little better feel of what is happening in Iowa than a national reporter does.

3. I just saw the clip on YouTube
Got it in an email.

Meanwhile, someone posted on another thread that they think Al Gore will wait until after the primaries and then support whoever the democratic nominee is. I replied that I thought that was best. I don't think Gore should support anyone right now. He is a highly visible person and any endorsement would be very divisive and could detract from Gore's primary focus, global climate change.

4. Just had a conversation with a republican about this at the UNI homecoming parade
(our sons were in speech/drama together so we actually have something in common :7)

He echos what is being said, Gore can have more impact as a private citizen than as President (especially w/the combativeness of the U.S. Congress). The same if he endorses a specific candidate and that candidate is not the nominee. If Gore involves himself in the election process (obviously as a partisan Democrat) he'll do it out of Party loyalty. In the end he'll be lobbying the President AND Congress about his pet cause - surely he'd rather it be the person he has supported (why screw it up by endorsing and then maybe having to back-pedal come January?)

5. Exactly
Getting involved in the primaries could be a disaster for him and he could create a lot of enemies who will forget all the good he's done and see him only as a political panderer. It is important that global climate change be a universal issue, not a political football.

I think Al Gore has too much integrity to jeopardize all the work he's done by getting back into the political arena.

8. I will take a kitten if
you can get Biden to deliver it to me in Az. :)

I never had a cat before. Always been a dog person.

9. I've never been a cat person either
But evidently cats see that differently! I am a cat magnet, or a real sucker. Unfortunately my allergies don't agree.

14. *sigh* I don't think the kitties will make that trip!
I'm also only a dog person (hypoallergenic of course). Our wonderdog Ozzie passed in April (he was a shih tzu/God knows what mix) but we still have our other wonderdog Memo (she's a Japanese Chin/Lhasa Apso).

Here they are in their Halloween costumes last October

(Ozzie is on the left w/Memo on the right)

15. Cute! I lost my border collie last year :(
Edited on Sun Oct-14-07 06:24 PM by pirhana
The craziest dog in the whole world! He used to chase his tail all day long and bark.. Yes he would catch his tail. He must've thought it was fun.

Border collies belong on a farm. They go crazy if they don't have a job.

Just the same, I loved that dog.

We will get another dog after the first of the year.

10. Debi - when you watched it this morning - did Yepsen say anything about
Edwards? Because what is posted at the Biden blog says Biden will move up by Edwards moving down.

But the clip that tsegat posted doesn't say that at all.

I'm confuzzled.

12. The clip was VERY short
so he might have said more.

(remember I was 'midwifing' during the show ;))

11. Speaking of adorable animals, someone posted that Biden had received a
high rating from the ASPCA (I think) which to me speaks volumes about a person - caring about animals. I wish I would have kept the thread, but I didn't. I'm going to go see what info I can find in this area on Biden and the other candidates. Those of us who are absolutely loony about our animals would take note of such an endorsement.
