NYTimes editorial on Pakistan - supportive of Biden-Lugar bill

Now Obama gets all the credit for being forward-thinking on Pakistan :eyes: :grr:

Both sides would be better able to achieve these goals if Congress approved legislation introduced this month by Senator Joseph Biden and Senator Richard Lugar that provides for substantial long-term increases in economic assistance to Pakistan and tighter monitoring of American military assistance. The White House needs to give this bipartisan initiative its strong support.

1. Remember during the debates, when Joe brought up Pakistan?

The others -- and the moderators -- were all like, 'where did THAT come from?'

I'm guessing a LOT of Obama's FP wisdom is directly from Joe. He'd be nuts if he didn't pay attention to him.

2. oh yeah, Mark Shields on PBS giving credit to Biden after that debate is

engraved on my brain cells. Obama picked it up quickly too, except went ahead and talked about possibly invading Pakistan in ways that were not the best way to just come out and say it. And then Bhutto's assassination. Sigh.
