Quito, May 21 (Prensa Latina) Ecuadorian Congressmen are investigating in the city of Manta, seat of a US military base since 1999, reports on human rights abuse perpetrated by the US troops in their country. Marcos Martinez, head of the Congressional Foreign Affairs Sub-commission, said they will give a press conference at the Laic University of Manta to announce the probe and receive charges.

Martinez says that a group of fishermen denounced at the Constituent Assembly in Ciudad Alfaro that US military sunk their boats and killed and made people disappear.

Widows and orphans are urging to run a probe on why some nationals were deported and judged by foreign judges.

The documents will allow to draft a report and submit it to President Rafael Correa."
