Masked men were trying to arrest/kidnap someone in the Venezuelan Embassy
and got out of vehicles but there were many student protestors and media there so they got back in and left.

1. The goriletti government gave the Ven. and ALBA embassy staffers 72 hours to leave Honduras
Edited on Fri Jul-24-09 05:48 PM by rabs

That was three days ago, so the 72 hours are up. The Ven. diplomats said they would not leave because the expulsion order came from an illegitimate regime.

Suspect attemped kidnapping was what it was all about.

(edit to clarify lower level embassy staffers were ordered to leave, the ambassador were withdrawn long ago.)

2. I hope the Ven embassy employees are prepared to sleep in
their offices and I hope the vending machines are well stocked.

3. Saying that there are sharp shooters at the border protest site
and that they want to denounce this to the media.

They are detained in the road and cannot leave.

Army says they can do this because it's supposed to be toque de queda.

Nasty.

They think the sharpshooters will fire and this will be done to blame
the protesters for their violence. Familiar scenario.

4. Oh lord they are announcing that there are people coming to shut down Radio Globo
I fear for those announcers.

The trick seems to have been let the people relax and then attack.

They are saying this live now. I have goose bumps.

6. Zelaya supporters have entered the studio of Radio Globo

to protect the station. A team of lawyers is also there.

Radio says they have received three reports from reliable souces that the golpistas plan to close the station. But so far it is still 0n the air.

Lots of calls supporting the station.
