Zelaya Awaits Contact with Honduran Military Command

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 24 (acn) Manuel Zelaya, Honduran constitutional
President, remains at the Las Manos border post, waiting for a conctact
with the general staff of Honduras´ armed forces.

Zelaya entered this Friday Honduran soil from Nicaragua, along several
members of his government, including Foreign Affairs Minister Patricia
Rodas and hundreds of followers.

The legitimate President is under apprehension threats issued by the de
facto regime if he entered Honduras.

Miguel D´Escoto, president of the UN General Assembly, told Telesur
network that he approved Zelaya´s decision to return to his country.

Opposite to D´Escoto´s position, Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State,
labeled as careless Zelaya´s action, according to a report from AP.

Meanwhile, Mexico´s Notimex reported that Zelaya´s return to Honduras
has the Central American nation paralyzed with the people demonstrating
on the streets.

Zelaya crossed the border between Nicaragua and Honduras and talked with
an immigration service commandant, but the official apparently asked
Zelaya to address higher rank military officers to solve the situation,
reported Prensa Latina news agency.

According to the same source, the Honduran police keeps blocking roads
between the El Paraiso town and Las Manos to prevent a larger number of
people from joining the constitutional president.
