bbcA row has erupted in Brazil over the decision to make a seven-year-old girl "queen" of a top samba school taking part in the Rio de Janeiro Carnival.
Children's rights groups have raised concerns that it is inappropriate for a child to take on the traditionally "sexy" role for the 80-minute parade.
But Julia Lira's father dismissed their concerns, saying she was a natural and would cope with dancing in the heat.
A judge is now considering a ban on her starring role in next week's parade.

i suppose if she danced in a TV studio it would be alright. if her image was used in advertisement there would be no row.
is she "sexy" when she dances just
because the queen of samba is sexy - or maybe is it in the eyes of the beholders to decide if they are watching a dancer of samba or a sexy queen?
with what it shows daily on the streets of its metropolis, brasil should calibrate more its own moral/ethical standards, and maybe heal some compulsive carnival attitudes in its men. maybe then a 7 years old girl dancing samba would just be the joyful sight of a 7 years old girl dancing samba, and not a sexy symbol of something else.
