Man arrested for not disclosing HIV diagnosis
I'm placing this story here, and suggesting that this be bookmarked for future reference for when the Cubaphobes bring up Cuba's HIV sanatoriums.

Greenwood - A Greenwood man is in jail for allegedly not telling the women he dated he is HIV-positive. Police consider it a rare case in Indiana, but the man's ex-girlfriend now fears for her life and the health of others.

"I will never be right again because of this monster," the woman said.

Tony Perkins, 47, was arrested after the ex-girlfriend turned him in for what he didn't tell her.

"At this time, we have the names of 11 women he had sexual relations with," said Greenwood Police Chief Joe Pitcher.

Although diagnosed in 2004, investigators say Perkins broke the law by not informing the women he slept with that he was HIV-positive. The ex-girlfriend believes "hundreds" of women may be affected.

The woman, who wanted her identity protected, said she learned about Perkins' condition after a confrontation with Perkins. During that meeting, she said he admitted to intentionally withholding the information.

"A whore gave it to me, so whatever whore sleeps with me deserves to get it," the woman said.

"He has admitted to it and was remorseful, but blames a woman for giving it to him," said Pitcher.

According to police reports, Perkins was twice warned by the state health department that it was his duty and the law to inform partners of his condition. He denied a request for an interview. Police say at least one other alleged victim has come forward and Pitcher expects there to be more.

The victim who came forward told police Perkins often meets women on the dating web site PlentyOfFish.com. She says Perkins, whose username is "Dick," sent her threatening text messages.

"He's not a man, he's a monster," she said.

Along with the public health charge, Perkins also faces charges of intimidation.

"God spared me, I do not have AIDS," the victim said. "If I can help these women, I know I did the right thing."

Failure to notify about HIV is a felony charge. Greenwood police say they'll work with the state health department to locate other alleged victims.
