Stomach turning event at U Miami

Orlando Bosch was honored at a legitimate university.

The Institute for the Cuban Historical Memory Against Totalitarianism had this soiree last week at the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies which is run by Jaime Suchliki.

1. Geez. It's bad seeing him all crumpled up like that, but he's still a mass murderer.
Everyone there who approves what he did is deeply twisted. Damned sad.

Very odd gathering. It's time they all awakened. They send off such negatives vibes. What a spectacularly pointless way to spend their lives, and those of their victims.

I never saw Suchliki before. I never could grasp the strangeness of his name. It surely isn't Spanish. He's a complete dork, too.

Thanks for the look inside that world. It's a dark place, isn't it?

2. Guess who else was in attendence?
Enrique Ros, with tie and suit, the father of Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, heh. Rotten apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This makes me feel some sympathy for her - she was brought up in in the thick of it.

4. Oh, jeez! I didn't know if he was still around. Found a couple of photos,
the first one being taken at the Versailles, as he shook hands with John Ashcroft:

Here's a website showing all Republican politicians, except for the image of Joe Garcia, who used to be the spokesman for the C.A.N.F.: http://www.myspace.com/versaillesmiami

Here he and Ileana are, with two conservative politicians from Africa. Fred Oladeinde - President, FDA. and Anthony Okonmah - Executive Director, FDA.

He looks like a whole lot of hot air, in my view. Interesting seeing he is still active in Miami politics. I heard that at one time, Radio Marti used to feature him, and Lincoln Dias-Balart's father on their own daily show.

That must have had the national Cubans cramming around their radios every day, hearing how it's going for two people they threw out of office during the Revolution as they yammer away at them every damned day. Gone, but not forgotten! (If they can help it.)

3. Reminds me of Uribe at Georgetown U. But you'd think that the Jesuits would have more....
...CONSCIENCE!

:argh:

Or at least institutional MEMORY! (Rightwing death squads, similar to Uribe's, have taken out numerous Jesuits and other Catholic priests, and nuns, in Latin America, and one of their most prestigious human rights workers in Colombia, at this very moment--Father Javier Giraldo Moreno--has suffered death threats from Uribe's death squads and has seen thousands murdered by them. This is much too high a price to pay for helping the CIA to "launder" Uribe, whatever the rewards for that might be. The Jesuits don't seem to have even common sense, let alone conscience. Or am I reading this wrong? Perhaps they are buying protection for their people in Colombia by fawning over Uribe. Well, whatever is going on, it sickens the soul.)
