GOP Condemns Senate Ad Calling Frontrunner Gay
GOP Condemns Senate Ad Calling Frontrunner Gay
Posted by Stephanie Condon

The Republican Party is shunning a perennial political candidate, this time running for an Illinois Senate seat, after he launched a political attack ad questioning the sexuality of his main Republican primary opponent.

Candidate Andy Martin launched a radio ad on Monday against Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), the current frontrunner for the GOP nomination in the 2010 Illinois Senate race. The ad calls into question Kirk's sexuality. Martin claims Kirk "lives in some kind of 'Animal House' in Washington with another gay congressman," reports CBS 2 Chicago.

Martin says his ad is based on a "solid rumor on the Internet," CBS 2 reports. The attack is the latest of many over-the-top claims from Martin, yet WBBM Newsradio 780 is required to run the ad because it cannot censor political advertising.

The Illinois Republican Party released a statement condemning Martin and his ad.

"His statements today are consistent with his history of bizarre behavior and often times hate-filled speech, which has no place in the Illinois Republican Party," the statement said. "Mr. Martin will no longer be recognized as a legitimate Republican Candidate by the Illinois Republican Party."

2. If I recall correctly, Andy Martin started the entire "birther" nonsense.

The courts banned him years ago from filing frivolous lawsuits. This article correctly identified him as a "perennial political candidate" rather than a perennial GOP candidate as he runs in whatever primary is dominate when/where he is running.

13. Wait Andy Martin again???
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/jose/entries/2008/10/10/hard_to_believe_but_a.html

This guy was living in Florida not too long ago. How can he run for Senate in Illinois??

Martin cut a political swath in Palm Beach County probably unmatched for someone unable to win an election.

Martin lived on The Island through the late ’90s, when he ran for governor, twice, state senator and U.S. senator. He made an impressive stable of enemies along the way.

When he wasn’t forcibly removed from a Republican convention here, he was hauled to jail for calling a judge “bought and paid for.” Interviewed by Dan Rather on an episode of the news show 48 Hours about litigious people, he said of Donald Trump’s purchase of Mar-a-Lago that Trump would turn the historic property into “a brothel.”

All together, Martin served more than six months in the county lockup. Sentenced to six months for contempt of court in 1995, he was released by mistake five months early. He was re-arrested in Connecticut and shipped back here to finish. He called himself a “political prisoner” then, and went on hunger strikes.

He is a nutjob. Good job Repukes. You have quite a group there

i have heard the rumor in person. not that it is a bad thing to be gay, or even to live in an animal house. but the guy has the completely undeserved rep for being a moderate and a clean cut family guy. he has a teflon coat, and i fear he might win.
the best dem candidates are not in the race, thanks to the taint of the blaggo. things that make you go hmmmm.
