TNR guy who supported Iraq war from the beginning calls Senate bill opponents "insane"
Edited on Wed Dec-30-09 07:08 AM by mcablue
That is Johnathan Chait of The New Republic

"The machinery of Congress has ground away at the health care bill, as it does to almost any bill. But at a broader level, the liberal mood is insane. (emphasis from poster) What has emerged from that machinery is not merely “better than nothing” or “a good start.” It is the most significant American legislative triumph in at least four decades. Why can so few people see that? "

2. If you're trying to play the guilt by association, a lot more "bad guys" are against the bill than
for it.

3. Well, he was wrong before and right now.
What's the big deal? The two policy areas aren't even close to being related.

4. Chait is an insulated Washington insider and a Third Way tool.
But the fact that he was wrong about Iraq doesn't necessarily mean he's wrong about this "health insurance reform" bill.

The fact that he can't understand why many liberals oppose this bill is the most telling feature of this article. He just doesn't "get it." His inability to comprehend any view but his own shows that he is, in fact an insulated Washington insider and a Third Way tool.
