but the run will not go well or last long. It might last past Iowa and perhaps New Hampshire, but will die either before or shortly after South Carolina.

that the attempt is remotely successful. It will not be close to successful. If one divides the party momentarily into two factions, one representing 95+ percent and the other representing 5 percent or less, it will not be relevant to the general election results. If one breaks up the party much nearer to 50-50 and carries the division to the convention floor, the general could get ugly.
My prediction would be that a challenger from the left will earn the Kucinich vote, and be largely pointless and without meaningful impact.

11. Obama is in no danger of losing the Afro-American vote. |
|
It will be extremely difficult for any candidate more progressive then Obama to mount a serious challenge to him in a primary by getting less then 10% of the black vote. Add the fact that polls show that well over 80% of liberal Democrats approve of Obama's job performance at this time and I just don't see any chance for a credible challenge to Obama.

He won a Pulitzer in 2003. There's a Wiki.
He's also African American.

17. Two years is a long time |
|
No one thought anyone would challenge Carter or Johnson at this point in their administrations, either.
Nor did many expect (though many dismissed) the rapid growth of the Green party in the 1990's.
