"First lady Michelle Obama launched a nationwide campaign Tuesday to fight childhood obesity, part of her effort to teach America's children about better nutrition and exercise.
Mrs. Obama said the Let's Move campaign will encourage more physical activity for children, healthier food in schools and more accurate food labeling. Some of her initiatives, such as tax breaks for grocery stores to move into poorly serve communities, will require congressional action."

I am so thrilled by this move. Michelle is a great First Lady.

2. good for her
and anybody else who will address this problem - it's a touchy one for many. A lot of public schools have no recess at all these days, there's a starting point.

I think Michelle will be awfully good on this issue, since she seems to get along so well with kids.

3. Yes, it is ridiculous. Kids need to let off some energy or they won't pay attention
as well.

6. Just watched the Lehrer interview with her.
Jim Lehrer made me want to smack him (rude, condesceding jerk through the whole thing) but Michelle was good.

Hope this helps; I can't think of a childhood health issue that concerns me more than kids' rising obesity.

7. I really like and admire Michelle....
She is a fine person with good ideals.
Although I am concerned about child hood obesity...I am more concerned right now with the many starving children and kids suffering from malnutrition. This can include obese children as they are not eating the right type of food.
I am also highly concerned with all the drugs in their water supplies and in their food.
Perhaps this effort will help them all as well.
