Why does Gallup refuse to conduct an Obama vs. Palin poll?

This new poll is interesting. Gallup pits Obama vs. a "generic Republican" and finds that Obama is up by just 2%. but we all know that "generic" is always the best candidate. After all, "generic" does not have the bad history of flip-flopper that Mitt Romney has, or the negatives of a Sarah Palin.

Gallup named names when it asked Republicans who they were planning to vote for in the primaries. Why didn't they name names in regard to the General Election?

This raises an obligatory question: Why didn't Gallup ask respondents whether they prefer Obama or Palin? Here's a quick guess: Because Gallup knows Obama WOULD KICK PALIN'S ASS. And as you may have noted by the mainstream media's fawning treatment of the serial liar Palin, Gallup knows not disclose bad news about her.

That is how pollsters make their money. They don't do it for free.
