Kerry dismisses RW claim that snow could bury climate bill

US climate skeptics seize on blizzard

by Shaun Tandon

<...>

Senator John Kerry, the leading force behind the legislation, dismissed suggestions that the snow could bury the bill.

"The inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom that this issue has stalled is dead wrong," said Kerry, a Democrat from Massachusetts.

<...>

"Comprehensive legislation will not only speed economic recovery, but it will put our country on the path to sustainable long-term economic growth," Kerry said.

Environmentalists accused climate skeptics of misunderstanding the science behind snowstorms.

Last night, the Daily Show and Colbert Report mocked the right-wing insistence that snow in winter disproves global warming:

1. I assume that it is snowing in the Southern Hemisphere.
That is the only way you would have an argument on the effects of snow on global warming. Let's face it, the idiots will never stop trying.

3. We got three days of rain from the California storms in the Desert SW
but I still strongly believe in "climate change" as a one-time geology major. Strange things are happening!!!!

4. I am glad Senator Kerry is fighting back on this. Now it is time for the media to educate the public
about this issue and call out the elected idiots like DeMint,Inhofe,McConnell and mock Hannity and Limbaugh who promote this ignorance.

8. 'Accused' them of 'misunderstanding'??
That's the understatement of the decade. Those repuke tools know very well that climate change is real. They just like to get their stupid uneducated base whipped up, and will take any excuse to do it. No matter how dumb.
