Fuck you George W bush
I just spent time with a neighbor whose son did 3 tours in Iraq and @ 28
is now dying of brain cancer. The best case gives him 5 years and the worst
is 18 months. George you unelected son of a bitch you just had to start that
fucking war didn't you? In Dec. 1999 you, Cheney, Rummy, and Wolfowitz
went to the situation room in the Pentagon and worked on you Iraq war plan
(Bob Woodward, Bush @ War .... I think). Well when you were there did you think
of people being contact w/ depleted Uranium and God knows what else?

This guy should be starting his life but George thanx to you and Dick Cheney
he now is going to die a painful death.

I spent 30 minutes w/ his Dad and all I could do was say I am sorry .....
I feel so empty ...... I wish I could have said something but I had no words.

Fuck you George W bush

What a shame, so young. Even benign brain tumors can be deadly. Someone from my church had one removed when he was 35 years old and died a few weeks ago at 39. His doctors had thought that he had beaten it. Unfortunately, they were wrong. He left behind a wife and a 13 year old son.

25. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld...
I don't understand why President Obama has decided not to investigate them for war crimes and crimes against humanity. "Looking forward instead of back?" I think there is a federal criminal statute of limitations, and it's applied to every other kind of criminal, so why not Bush et al? I'm still hoping that there will be an international effort if the U.S. fails to do so. If nothing else, I'm confident that history will remember Bush/Cheney as a dark period, and that they will be remembered along with the likes of Milosevic, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, and Pinochet, rather than with other U.S. presidents.

That said, let's not forget that the wars started by Bush continue under Obama. In spite of claims that we are exiting Iraq within six months, my son deploys in three days for a full twelve months as part of the long-term military presence in Iraq. Our President also continues to follow Bush/Cheney Error policies regarding civil liberties and USA Patriot. The Obama Administration recently claimed it has the authority to execute U.S. citizens overseas without due process. The two authorizations for use of military force issued by Congress include no geographic limits, so the "War on Terror" essentially makes the entire planet a war zone, and noncombatants seem to be fare game as we "surgically" exterminate alleged terrorists.

Are we better off with Obama than we were with Bush?--That's a no brainer, if only by virtue of having a president with a 3-digit IQ and a vocabulary that doesn't send us to the dictionary repeatedly asking, "Is that a word?" But much is still wrong, and we shouldn't let our respect for Obama the person translate into support of policies and practices like those started by Bush/Cheney. Extrajudicial extermination of U.S. citizens violated the protections of the U.S. Constitution; killing civilians is illegal and morally wrong, not to mention counterproductive; USA Patriot is a stain on the U.S. Constitution; prisoners still languish in Guantanamo Bay, denied both freedom and due process; Republicans still run the show, even with the House, Senate and White House under Democratic control; tens of thousands will die in 2010, as tens of thousands died in 2009, for lack of access to affordable medical care.

30. This scenario is exactly what all of us "Ameica-hating/ terrorist-lovers" were warning of..
This is one example of the worst-case scenario, but even for the tens of thousands of returning vets looking forward to a lifetime of PTSD, it's going to be very difficult trying to live a "normal" life. It's always a terrible decision to send young men & women at the beginning of their lives into a war-zone; unless of course, you profit handsomely & don't ever have to see them face-to-face..

31. I am so sorry for your neighbor
Edited on Sun Feb-14-10 08:19 AM by undergroundnomore
This Friday I was able to actually breathe a sigh of relief when my own son returned from Iraq. I had tried to talk my son out of enlisting. He wanted to follow in the footsteps of his great grandfathers, grandfathers, and uncles. My father spoke to him to try to convince him not to enlist but his father (my ex) told him that he wished that he could go out and fight this war. Too bad my ex didn't instead of my son. (sorry, that was mean spirited wasn't it?)

I have been on pins and needles the whole time. Every time uniformed military personnel was on campus my heart was in my throat because I was hoping that they weren't there to see me about my son. I was sad because we are still recruiting young high school students, their lives ahead of them, to be fodder for war.

Just this past week one of my students missed two days of school so he could get processed. This would make my 10th student who will go (or have gone) off to fight these wars.

When will it all stop? When will we bring ALL of our soldiers home?

.... before his 3rd tour. Maybe he was predisposed to have cancer because of
his genes or he was exposed to some sort of carcinogen outside of his military
duties but the war theater in Iraq is chocked full of toxins .... depleted uranium,
solvents, petro chemicals, explosives, and God knows what else. These things
might very well have contributed to his cancer.

Reports of problems and illnesses in the Iraqi people are well documented.

78. Not at all.
I think it is admirable that this soldier made the personal committment to remain in the National Guard and to deploy three times. Since most deployments are for 1 year with 1 year off, that means 6 or more years in the force. To regard it as anything other than a personal committment to service is to discredit the individual IMO.

42. Now I heard..
..that Dub sent his daughter down to Paraguay (you remember that place.. ie., where all the Nazis went after WWII) to buy a huge ranch back up in the piney woods.. in fact, near the very spot where Dr. Mengele was hiding out.. and where Nietzsche's mad daughter went to start a Jew-free country! No shit. I also heard he's arranged for 500 American thugs to be stationed there AND bribed the current dictator to chuck out any extradition treaties they got with the USA. NOW.. do that sound like the actions of non-guilty man? Do that sound like the actions of a man who's confident his shit is safely in the bag forever? Naw. Not to me. If he think there's a chance (outside or not) of him having his election-stealing, Democrat murdering ass dragged in front of an honest judge..which seems to be the case.. then Lord knows it's a distinct (however remote) possibility. I'm an old man. My health is not good. But shit.. W was never in the least in charge, Who would put a wet brain alcoholic psychotic narcissist Loser with an IQ of 90 in charge of anything more dangerous than a wet mop..?? i think all he did in the oval office was play video games. Laura when asked if W was religious,..she replied, "yes, he's very religious. when hes playing video games i always hear him yelling, Oh God." When W was a child he organized the local children into expeditions to catch frogs. he then put fire crackers up their butts, lit the fuse and threw them up in the air. not unlike what he did to our troops in that needless war for Profit in Iraq.. so he might have had something to do with that at least for purely psychotic reasons.

"SNIP...The Wealth Distribution
In the United States, wealth is highly concentrated in a relatively few hands. As of 2007, the top 1% of households (the upper class) owned 34.6% of all privately held wealth, and the next 19% (the managerial, professional, and small business stratum) had 50.5%, which means that just 20% of the people owned a remarkable 85%, leaving only 15% of the wealth for the bottom 80% (wage and salary workers). In terms of financial wealth (total net worth minus the value of one's home), the top 1% of households had an even greater share: 42.7%. Table 1 and Figure 1 present further details drawn from the careful work of economist Edward N. Wolff at New York University (2009)....SNIP"

In terms of financial wealth, the bottom 80% only have 7% of the total wealth in this country, and i hear 74% of the personal debt.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=14839
The National Intelligence Council report, Global Trends 2025, stated that many governments will be “expanding domestic security forces, surveillance capabilities, and the employment of special operations-type forces.” Counterterrorism measures will increasingly “involve urban operations as a result of greater urbanization,” and governments “may increasingly erect barricades and fences around their territories to inhibit access. Gated communities will continue to spring up within many societies as elites seek to insulate themselves from domestic threats.”<1> Essentially, expect a continued move towards and internationalization of domestic police state measures to control populations.

The nature of totalitarianism is such that it is, “by nature (or rather by definition), a global project that cannot be fully accomplished in just one community or one country. Being fuelled by the need to suppress any alternative orders and ideas, it has no natural limits and is bound to aim at totally dominating everything and everyone.” David Lyon explained in Theorizing Surveillance, that, “The ultimate feature of the totalitarian domination is the absence of exit, which can be achieved temporarily by closing borders, but permanently only by a truly global reach that would render the very notion of exit meaningless. This in itself justifies questions about the totalitarian potential of globalization.” The author raises the important question, “Is abolition of borders intrinsically (morally) good, because they symbolize barriers that needlessly separate and exclude people, or are they potential lines of resistance, refuge and difference that may save us from the totalitarian abyss?” Further, “if globalization undermines the tested, state-based models of democracy, the world may be vulnerable to a global totalitarian etatization.”<2>

"SNIP...The cultivation of a minute layer of ultra-wealthy in these countries indicates, however, a certain limited redistribution of power within the global economy as industrial activity increasingly takes places outside the traditional imperialist powers, under cheap-labor conditions. Along these lines, the British Guardian announced on July 3 that Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helú recently overtook Microsoft founder Bill Gates to become the world’s richest man. As Helú’s massive Mexican telecom stock holdings surged forward in value, his fortune grew to an estimated $67.8 billion, surpassing Bill Gates’s $59.2 billion fortune largely built on Microsoft stock."

44. OUR SOLDIERS ARE NOT BEING CHECKED FOR CONTAMINATION BY DEPLETED URANIUM..!! you should ask him
Edited on Sun Feb-14-10 10:49 AM by sam sarrha
to get a urine test, very simple, for uranium. this is VERY IMPORTANT TO DOCUMENT. it needs to be shown they were deliberately neglected. to cover up history's most horrific atrocity. if we can show how bad it effects our soldiers they will have to quit using it. what happened is we have a great liability of stored Reactor waste costing billions to contain. war turned this costly liability into an 8 billion dollar industry turning it into a weapon that will keep killing children until our sun burns out and turns into a Red giant and expands into the orbit of Jupiter.

http://www.truthout.org/article/depleted-uranium-horror-america
"snip...For these weapons have released deadly, carcinogenic and mutagenic, radioactive particles in such abundance that-whipped up by sandstorms and carried on trade winds - there is no corner of the globe they cannot penetrate-including Britain. For the wind has no boundaries and time is on their side: the radioactivity persists for over 4,500,000,000 years and can cause cancer, leukemia, brain damage, kidney failure, and extreme birth defects - killing millions of every age for centuries to come. A crime against humanity which may, in the eyes of historians, rank with the worst atrocities of all time....snip

We must also count the numberless thousands of miscarried babies. Nobody knows how many Iraqis have died in the womb since DU contaminated their world. But it is suggested that troops who were only exposed to DU for the brief period of the war were still excreting uranium in their semen 8 years later and some had 100 times the so-called 'safe limit' of uranium in their urine. The lack of government interest in the plight of veterans of the 1991 war is reflected in a lack of academic research on the impact of DU but informal research has found a high incidence of birth defects in their children and that the wives of men who served in Iraq have three times more miscarriages than the wives of servicemen who did not go there....snip"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depleted_uranium
"snip...The use of DU in munitions is controversial because of questions about potential long-term health effects.<4> Normal functioning of the kidney, brain, liver, heart, and numerous other systems can be affected by uranium exposure, because in addition to being weakly radioactive, uranium is a toxic metal.<5> It is weakly radioactive and remains so because of its long half-life (4.468 billion years for uranium-238). The aerosol produced during impact and combustion of depleted uranium munitions can potentially contaminate wide areas around the impact sites or can be inhaled by civilians and military personnel.<6> During a three week period of conflict in 2003 in Iraq, 1,000 to 2,000 tonnes of DU munitions were used, mostly in cities...snip"

my prayers are with him, his family and all his comrads in arms and the Iraqi victoms devistated by this hidious poison for Profit. it is the Heavy metal toxisity of DU that is the real problem being covered up

Yes, fuck you, Bush, Cheney, et al. But, I also say, "Fuck you!" to anyone who aided and abetted helping these ratbastards into office for two terms. Without all the ignoramuses who bought into the "Ozone Man" and swift-boating bullshit, these SOBs would never have been allowed to get into the position to start their bloody wars. Fuck the whole lot of them.

50. We've been using DU since at least the 70s
So initial blame lies somewhere between Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter.

I was there, and I'm more worried about the chemical crap Saddam had sitting around. Our troops would come upon a stash of weapons not even knowing they were chemical.

DU's main danger is if you inhale the dust.

Of course if you're in a position to inhale the dust the DU round has probably already killed you.

On the bright side, DU is much safer than other equally-effective alternatives.

56. That's a great sadness -- and it will be repeated many times as soldiers who
served in Iraq are stricken --

On the balance sheets, we also have 2 million innocent Iraqis dead --

and those who lead us have once more tried to teach us that revenge is what

the world is about. The cure for pain and suffering for our own losses.

The innocent suffer for the insane agenda of the elites.

64. Yes, And The Horse He Rode In With
His eight unelected years in office will live on in infamy as a very dark chapter in our history. The robber barons of the past come off like Mother Theresa compared to Dubya's eight destructive and costly years and all the blood on his hands. My hope would be that there is a very dark part of Hell reserved for Bush and Cheney.
