I think we have to bite the bullet and re-elect Reid..
He spoke boldly for reconciliation I liked his human interest story, he's a good guy votes the right way. If he gets this done, to a satisfactory degree he'd of earned it.

2. Yeah that's definitely the way to go and now's best to push senators now for a leadership ..

chanllenge in 2011. Maybe Navadans can make that deal with Reid that they'll help him stay if he transfers power preferably to Durbin.

6. Who would you recommend for Majority Leader...
...BEARING IN MIND that the ML has to not only agree with your ideology but also CONVINCE OTHER DEMS to vote the same way.

9. Ideology or not, his numbers have floundered due to his constituents not being happy, ..
Edited on Fri Feb-26-10 02:11 AM by ProgressOnTheMove
So anything I say has little impact, I'm just saying if we're talking the numbers game we have, unfortunately, got to be with him than against him. There's a chance he may go by their choice, depending on their mood come November and I've no objections to anyone who bcomes ML. Durbin is just one name thatwas mentioned as a potential candidate if things go that way.

4. No we don't.
One action does not make amends for many wrong ones. And reid is one of the few dems I want to lose so we can (possibly) get some new leadership. Sometimes you have to cut bait to make things better.

8. It's just with only 100 Senators to pick and choose from there's very little movement for success...
Edited on Fri Feb-26-10 02:00 AM by ProgressOnTheMove
So, no, I don't agree with all he's done, but if Navandans could make that bargain with him to relinquish the leadership for saving his seat, I can work with that.

7. "We" in the sense of whoever votes Democratic is acting in the interest of the party as a whole...
Edited on Fri Feb-26-10 01:54 AM by ProgressOnTheMove
If a person votes to expand the majority, I'm with them in that effort in mutual support. So, it's that kind of "we." :) As far as things changing Bayh is going that's change, and for my mind expanding the Congress is the best change we can make. Throw the bums out and th bums are to my assessment GOP Senate obstructionists, the house is doing and outstanding job so very few bums to throw out.

12. Got it, but we can't vote for him so it's ultimately up to the people of NV. I have
to admit that I get discouraged which may account for my negative response. I "worked" hard to get Coakley elected in MA by calling constituents 3 days in a row (and I'm across the country!). So I don't know how to really get the people in NV out to vote for Reid. I don't think he'll be as slack as Coakely was, and Obama was essentially there stumping for him the other day (although my guess is the 'fans' who turned out to see Obama will probably be voting for Reid anyway).

So although I understand and agree with your "we", there's only so much we can do from afar. :hi:

10. Nevadans disagree en masse
as do I.

Reid has been on of the best players on the Republican team.

11. Reid is horrible as a majority leader. But I would rather have a Dem in that seat then a Rethug.
As we can see by today, most of the Dems are reasonable people while the Rethugs are just plain nuts.

14. Well, I for one don't want him defeated for re-election, but as majority leader that is another
story.
