Poll question: Do you love the Tea Party? |
|
I say that their mere existence will fragment and erode the republican base making their position in the upcoming elections untenable. Is this enough to make you love them or the fact that they exist.

2. I can't see how they really have |

any long lasting influence. Anger and resentment isn't enough to build a viable political movement. That's all they have.
The need ideas, not vitriol. How does "I want my country back!" translate into policies or justice?

3. actually they are killing me with laughter |
|
and I rarely get this kind of daily amusement these days.
Yes, I know there are extremists in the midst of the Tea Baggers and they would probably support a violent coup in spite of their rhetoric in support of democracy.
But the whole outfit is a joke and amusing. They have a very limited capacity to think critically and they are even more oblivious to history, theirs is a fantastic world of imagined history in which they will present nonsense as reality.

7. It is a compilation of several signs I saw posted on GD over the last week - |
|
The "big" teabagger rally in DC, IIRC, had one sign with the term "socalism", and one other sign had "scolar". I just used creative licentiousness to combine the diverse elements.
There is certainly more than enough ignorance out there to go around without my help, though....

5. waiting for the moment Dems find a wedge |
|
Wall Street regulation is a potential wedge issue.
I can't imagine the tea-partyers siding with the big banks and brokerage houses over the individual when it comes to regulation.
How can you be pissed about the bail-outs and favor not doing anything to prevent the next one?

Another reason it makes sense to go hard after Financial Reform.
Conservatives that push back against it will have trouble explaining that to their Tea Party constituents.
Channeling a spin machine: Of course, if it was proposed by Obama though, it may just be a socialist plot for the govmunt to take over da banks, and not let people ride the Free Market. And you want your chance to ride the Free Market, don't ya? So, it's bad, ya see?

A great wedge but indicative of the effects of the big lie propaganda machine and how it has corrupted the public ken.

for the pukes, they are bleeding to death because of their own base; watching them self destruct is great.
