"Horse and Sparrow" economics. Either way, poor ol' Grover got stuck with the Panic of 1896 that Benjy made for him.

3. Only grandson of a president to become president |
|
His grandfather was William Henry Harrison, the 9th President of the U.S.
His great-grandfather was also named Benjamin Harrison, and was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
He lost the popular vote to incumbent president Grover Cleveland in the 1888 election, but won the electoral vote. This would not happen again until 2000 (but 1888's election was not tainted by fraud).
He was born in Ohio, one of seven presidents born in that state. (Only Virginia has produced more, with eight)
The Sherman Anti-trust Act was passed during his term.
Annual federal spending reached 1 billion dollars for the first time.
Six states were added to the union.
He is the only president to be succeeded in office by the same person he succeeded himself.
