Barney Frank Calls Retirement Report 'Right-Wing Lie'

BOSTON -- Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank is calling a Twitter post by conservative commentator Laura Ingraham a "false story" that exemplifies what he called the "right-wing technique of spreading a lie."

Ingraham posted a message on her Twitter account that reads "Sources tell me Bawney Fwank (sic) won't run for re-election. Wants to work on the board of a bank and make $ before retirement."

"She made no attempt to verify whether or not this is true -- which it is not," said Frank, who added supporters are already collecting nomination signatures for him.

"People can see clearly that the right wing has again spread a complete lie without making the slightest effort to verify it," said Frank.

It's not like they'd have a crack at this seat even if Barney did retire, the Republicans last won this seat in 1944.
