Ok, after my tea bagger talks yesterday I will admit.... |

We ARE smarter than them! It is not us being arrogant, it is just the truth! I didn't get ONE logical, well formatted argument for the behavior of the GOP! They just hate Obama being smarter than them!!!!

16. This is our problem -- |
|
some survey comes out that tells us that the teabaggers are BETTER-educated (and better-off) than the average American -- and rather than embrace it, so that we can appropriately tar the 'baggers as out-of-touch elitists, the Latte Liberal branch of the Democratic Party wants to deny it all, and contend that Teabaggers are no-account, uneducated losers.
Pssst --- hint -- it's not exactly a winning strategy for the Left to paint their enemies as downmarket. We've got the latte-drinking organic foodies. What we need to do is re-connect with average Americans -- people who get by on (gasp) LESS THAN 100K A YEAR!!! --- ("no one I know can live on that", etc., etc.,)

You realize that is nothing but a made-up right-wing talking point, right? It used to be 'Limousine Liberal', until all those Republicans realized that they all used limousines.
Most of the Big Money in this country is Republican. They don't trend Democratic. Just an FYI.
Haven't seen you here in a while. Thought you bought some granite a long time ago.

.... "there's nothing wrong with being rich, it's usually the rich guys who do the most to help us poor people out!" (and he clearly appeared to be "one of us poor people.")
Now that I think about it, he had to be a plant. lol

Depending on the largesse of some rich guy isn't a reliable way of getting what you need. Legislating fair taxes, regulatory protections, a livable minimum wage, health care for all is a much better way to do it. We ordinary people are perfectly willing to work for what we have, we just don't want the system gamed in favor of the wealthy so we have to hope for their charity.

I'd say we're really more of their opposites...including the fact that politicians don't fullfill their promises to us nearly as strongly.

10. It bugs them that he is smarter than them because he is blacker than them. |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 02:26 PM by DeschutesRiver
Obama has so radically shifted their world view of things that all they are capable of doing is continuing to lash out blindly in their nonsensical way.
Black people are not smarter than even these dumbest of white people - that is what they've repeated to themselves when they are shooting the shit by themselves. I used to board a horse in a barn full of whankers like that, oh my, these dumb asses knew that blacks were inferior. Didn't help when we got a bunch of barn staff and groom fresh in from South Africa, looking for permanent citizenship status. They jumped right into these conversations, re how genetically proven it is that black people are stupid. I'd thought I'd heard everything, in terms of arrogance and despicable talk about black folk, until I heard these SA's - raised it to a whole new level.
I haven't been to that place in years, but I know that some of them have enough IQ to understand that Obama is smart, and I'd imagine that this destruction of their cherished notions has probably twisted their gut and minds in a way from which they will never recover. Because now they are looking at all the black people they made fun of and pronouncements about and probably wondering if those black folks were laughing at them with their notions that they were smarter merely due to having less pigment than another human being (or disgusted that they had an encounter with such primitive slow witted white folk).

15. A few days ago, the local news was covering a rally that had Sarah Palin speaking |
|
And she said something that was so stupid that it made me physically dizzy for a few minutes. She said, "We have to remind them that the governmnet works for us! We don't work for the government!" and... you know, she's this chick who ran as VP and then quit her job as Alaskan governor...
And people cheered.
Obviously the phrase "garbage in, garbage out" has reached its pinnacle of expression here

I must have spoken with 50 of them before I grew bored (and quite frankly, a bit disturbed, as not everyone there presented with a normal range of mental health).
Not one knew the first thing about basic macroeconomics;
Nor had the first clue about law- even though they were spouting of about it.
One guy for example had a large sign saying "read the constitution." So I asked him a very simple question: how many articles are in the constitution, and what basic themes do they cover?"
He said wait, I have a copy right here (fumbling with his backpack)!
I replied- come on, without looking what are the first three? Easy as pie.
Uhhh, errr....
Dude! You should really know this stuff if you're going to carry a big ole sign like that!

Master's degrees in religion from one of those send-in $50 and we'll mail you your degree websites. They seem to hug their Bible and their Constitution, but fail to know what's in it, save a few key phrases.
Or maybe they went to plumber's school with Joe the plumber
I bet 90% of them couldn't tell you the geological age of the planet and the Universe, or explain what is a quadratic equation.
