He's capable of causing an oil leak in the Gulf. He snaps his fingers and the stock market drops a million points. He smiles and a terrorist decides to try and blow up Times Square (but then he points and causes it to backfire). Now I'm sure they'll say he sneezed and brought about the flood in Nashville.

He's just that good. He's like God - only less vengeful.

Politicians and elected officials are just people. Some of them have enough charisma to seem larger than life. But they are all just flesh and blood. The republicans know that Obama has charisma. It makes them afraid.

I have met enough politicians to know a few who have charisma. Obama has it. Clinton has it. Back in the day, Jimmy Carter had it. The only two whom I have met who had enough charisma to knock my socks off were Jesse Jackson, Sr. and Bobby Kennedy.

I don't know about charismatic women leaders. I have never met one. I have never met an evil charismatic leader either, like Jim Jones. He had to have had something. A college friend of mine became a follower. She could do nothing but sing his praises. She drank the kool-aid and died at Jonestown.

Obama, however, combines charisma with intelligence and hard work.

If I could meet him, I'd rag on him a bit for some of his moves ... starting with his emulation of Lincoln's cabinet! But I must admit, I think we're lucky to have him.
