The Media is a fucking Trip!
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 08:00 PM by FrenchieCat
They are soooo concerned about troops now,
when this President is sending them to Afghanistan,

although when Frat Boy Bush sent hundred of thousand to Iraq and Afghanistan,
they were right there cheering and selling the idea to us.

With Bush it was a "surge"....
with Obama, it's an "escalation"....

They are acting like Obama started this war,
even though he will be the one to end it.

Oops.....some of that sounds like those here at DU! How odd!

2. Actually not - the media ARE a fucking trip
(Media is plural - I"m not the grammar police but I hear this all the time - mostly from members of the media)

Your points are all right on, IMHO. That's why I no longer watch TV at all.

8. Chris Matthews really..
does believe in that John Wayne shit,he thinks we are in a movie and that the president should portray himself as some of the previous Presidents..

The media is now stumbling all over themselves to try to spin this to what they want to see just so that they will have a something to talk about...

9. They're also now very concerned about spending and the deficit/debt
We never heard numbers like "$1 million per troop per year" when Bush was calling the shots. We never heard debt and deficit when the Repukes brought us $1 trillion in tax cuts for the rich that created zero jobs.

11. And you'll never hear a comparison between Bush and Obama in MSM. No context.
The lack of critical thought and substantive discourse make my head hurt.

15. Yes the political implications of this escalation are troubling
Edited on Wed Dec-02-09 07:46 PM by AllentownJake
Perhaps we should have considered that, I mean what the media says is so important. Perhaps we shouldn't have been focused on the attack political/media perspective and instead looked at the escalation political/media perspective.

Oh what to do.
