47. They keep talking about the president. That this is a referendum on him. Seems to me that it's |
|
really a repudiation of the Republican Establishment. The tea baggers did well.
The problem is with the Republican Party. It is a party that is divided. What's Sarah from Wasila going to do now? She threw the tea baggers under the bus and is now with the party establishment. How is she going to show her face in Kentucky for Paul when his father out-polled her and every other Republican?
Why hasn't the M$M gotten it right yet? This isn't about Obama who's sitting on a 50%+ approval rating nationwide, despite the hate rhetoric and obstruction from the right.
This is really about the Republican Party, a reaction against Corporate Elite as well.
The M$M needs to get it right.
Sestak doesn't have to grovel to Obama, Washington or anyone. He needs to deliver for his constituents in PA and do the job that they want him to do. First, he needs to concentrate on beating Paul. Then, he needs to do what the voters sent him to do--to work for THEM, not Obama and certainly not the Democratic Party.
The punditry has it all wrong.
They are telling the wrong story tonight, and I frankly had enough. I had to turn the t.v. off in order to save my nerves and blood pressure.

I have fought for so many years of my long life for reproductive choice. I have two daughters and three granddaughters. My granddaughters, one of which is just coming of age, could face laws that endanger their physical health and their rights.
Being a Dem is not enough, in and of itself...I know that as a mom of two daughters you understand that...

I also think that the governor and the White House needs to do the same.
Sestak was addressing his closest supporters at that victory celebration and they deserved to hear that their work overcame a strong machine. For one minute they deserved that praise from their candidate. So Fineman and his admonition can go straight to hell tonight.

60. Good night for Dems. Media analysts look foolish pushing the doom |
|
and gloom spin. They're after ratings, and creating fake drama regarding the Tea Party and an imaginary Republican resurgence. It's bunk. The GOP is in disarray with a mutiny on their hands. The real story last night was failure of the GOP to take PA-12. Not even close despite heavy advertsing buys and attempts to nationalize the race (Obama/Pelosi).
If the pundits were honest they would be admitting that the Republican Party is in desperate shape. 2010 is their last shot at regaining political relevance, and their prospects look bleaker after last night. That reality is not good for TV ratings though.
I think the big story for November is really a brewing anti-Tea Party backlash that will energize Democrats and Independents.
