Tweety: Blumenthal should get out of politics for awhile |
|
Someone needs to ask this ASS did he see the full video instead of a few seconds like the beginning of his speech .This reminds me of the same bullshit the media did to Reverend Wright take a few seconds of a speech and keep looping it in the minds of the viewer. This motherfucker Tweety seems as though for some reason hates Blumenthal and wants to PERSONALLY sink his campaign.

Really Tweety, you need to go on hiatus. We're tired of your endless slobbering over Palin.

3. Why don't we go to Moveon and click on to the NBC |
|
email and send one to the head of the company. Ask them if they are getting like Fox and only tell the part of what they want about the news. And say make Matthews watch the whole thing and then apologize to Blumenthal. I am.

4. Tweety is correct for a change. Blumenthal is toxic and the sooner our new democrats ... |
|
come to terms with this fact, the easier we can find some viable candidate to run in his place.

opinion of Blumenthal. He is not known for any underhanded sleazy things. In fact, his rep was always very clean. And he has fought against big businesses trying to take advantage of people here. Plus, there is the issue of who would run in his place. Dems had Dodd drop out. Lamont is running for Governor. You could take one of the Reps and run one of them but that leaves a whole in who would take their place in their races. Who is the viable candidate?

CT loves the guy.
This is a targeted witch-hunt, he's been #1a on the list of AGs that Wall Street wants to destroy for years, right up there with former NY AG and disgraced governor Eliot Spitzer. It's not about either man's personal foibles (and everybody has foibles, if they don't...well, create some by insinuation. It's all in line with one of my favorite movie quotes "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." (The Man who Shot Liberty Valance.), it was about finding something, anything, to blow up into a scandal. The guy exaggerated in a non-official capacity his military experience...every veteran I know tells tall-tales about their service. Most of the are fishermen too. I don't really believe they caught a fish "this big!"
It's all about getting Dick Blumenthal out of politics because he's an enemy to big business and to corporatist Dems and to all stripes of Republicans.

that it's difficult to hold Repuke feet to the fire when you give Democratic officeholders a pass. I wish more people here would hold our candidates to higher standards than the Repukes hold theirs.

14. BTW if Barack Obama would INVESTIGATE Dubya, we could have MORALLY sound ... |

candidates for all political positions.
The FAILURE to hold corrupt leaders accountable will only lead to more and more smarmy politicians gaining power.
Fault lies with both parties. We should "set the example."

that didn't mean I ever voted for him in the future. He had other, more corrupt faults/actions.
If you don't mind that he lied about his record, then terrific, perhaps others will overlook that character flaw? But I wouldn't bet on it.

Sheesh. By the way, I heard Chris Murphy, my rep here (I live in Terryville) is totally standing behind him. So are the rest, Courtney, DeLauro, Hines, Larson. And Howard Dean called it a hatchet job.

26. Tweety is an idiot. The NYT screwed up big time with their story. However . . . |
|
Blumenthal still has some work to do. Two more instances have since surfaced from the Conn. press. Colin McEnroe has been defending Blumenthal and going after the NYT. However he said this yesterday: http://blogs.courant.com/colin_mcenroe_to_wit/2010/05/blumenthal-fire-blazes-up.htmlMy feeling that the Times published a shoddy piece does not equal a feeling that Blumenthal is sin-free. And if a lot of new instances like this one turn up, he's going to die a death by 1,000 cuts.
To stop it, he'll have to own the problem even more than he has so far. He'll have to say something like, "I was not aware of doing this at the time, but I clearly have a tendency to get swept up in a rush of enthusiasm and kinship, when I'm talking about veterans, and to make it sound like I served with them in Vietnam when, obviously, I didn't. I'm embarrassed by this and will do what I can to make it up to them." He's going to have to embrace, essentially, Chris Shay's argument -- that Blumenthal had gotten kind of weird in the way he talked about himself and Vietnam. It's counterintuitive, but the way to survive something like this is to say something so big about yourself that it renders further news developments moot. You want to stop the cyclings of news. If you're Larry Craig, you say "I'm gay" and that makes all new proofs of your gay behavior not interesting. You have to be honest with yourself and your handlers about how big the problem is and acknowledge it right away at that size, instead of letting it drip, drip, drip into a pool of that size.
