When your Republican friends complain about the Gulf Oil Spill |
|
...and how it's being handled.
ask them if before the spill, they supported increasing or decreasing the budgets of the government agencies involved in the cleanup.
ask them if before the spill, they supported increasing or decreasing the regulation of offshore oil drilling operations?

4. Ask them if they support unionizing all offshore oil work. |
|
Clearly the workers wanted to shut the well down. They also knew BP was breaking the rules using seawater instead of drilling mud. Had they been in a union they could have shut down the project and forced them to do it right.

5. My conservative Mom told me yesterday that we still need to drill in |
|
Alaska. We would have tons of oil there...like we should trust anyone to drill there after this! Why are conservatives so clueless, even my own parents?

7. I would ask her the following: |
|
1) if the drilling she wants is allowed to proceed, in how many years will the oil from that drilling be available?
2) then ask her about that oil...ask her if that oil will be for the USA or if it will be sold to some other nation who is willing to pay more than we are?

8. Another point is how much oil is really there? Will it make |
|
a huge difference in what we have to import now?

9. Ask them if George H.W. Bush was responsible for the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill |
|
It happened under his "watch" in 1989.
