Since Obama said the spill is now his responsibility, SEIZE BP ASSETS BY MIDNIGHT
Edited on Thu May-27-10 06:01 PM by zulchzulu
BP needs to not only be accountable for the spill, but must relinquish their assets to the US government until the spill is stopped and the damage is cleaned up.

I would equate this spill and BPs lack of responsibility as an attack on our homeland (as much as I hate that term) since they never had the ability to stop the spill from occurring and continue to try to cover up for their miscalculation, which is based on greed.

We need to set a precedent with this type of environmental disaster that will make any other multi-national energy interest think twice before they try to pull a fast one on our resources.

Imagine a nuclear power plant in the same situation as this event. Imagine a nuclear meltdown that is releasing deadly radiation into a populated area where they are saying they are attempting to stop the leak, but can't.

What would we do then?

If we've learned anything from this event and even the Exxon Valdez event, it's that the energy interests will do all they can to squirm out of responsibility for their mishap and will do all they can to not pay back for the damage. They WILL GET AWAY WITH IT TOO...

...unless we seriously put the boot on the neck and show we mean it that the damage will end.

Of course, the reality that this will happen will be relegated to some made-for-cable movie and never actually occur.

Yes, because movies are not real life.

While some will continue to fantasize about transferring ownership having some magical effect on stopping the flow (what, if it's a US government well, will the oil be scared back down?), others are working on actual solutions.

5. Securing BPs assets is not something that can't be done
Even the threat of shutting down and seizing corporate assets would feed nicely into the 24/7 MSM and cause that corporation to make at least a semblance of cooperating.

It's all perception.

6. Seize BP's Assets - Sign the Petitions Today....and tell a friend.
Edited on Fri May-28-10 02:56 AM by rseascape
I agree that BP needs to be held accountable for its actions. After all the dust has cleared (Smoke Really) it appears they their actions were willfully negligent. When America looks back on the BP Gulf oil spill of 2010, what they may see is the heart of what is wrong with self-regulating capitalism. If a individual did something like this their assets would immediately be seized. BP should be treated NO DIFFERENT.

Sign the petitions: https://secure2.convio.net/pep/site/SPageServer?pagename=SeizeBP&JServSessionIdr004=0nltj76nb3.app213b
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/seize-all-bp-assets-worldwide

Corporate America is what is destroying America these days and ruining the American way of life. It is High Time that they were held fully accountable for their actions. Corporate America has done far more damage to America and Americans that terrorism. Its the right thing to do. Please sign the petitions.

"If we've learned anything from this event and even the Exxon Valdez event, it's that the energy interests will do all they can to squirm out of responsibility for their mishap and will do all they can to not pay back for the damage. They WILL GET AWAY WITH IT TOO..." ,,,,This you can count on!

Seize their assets now! Have a trust administer the cleanup operations. As Americans, lets all band together on this to help set everything right! Louisiana is counting on America right now, because they have nothing left to lose. If you ever had empathy for your fellow man - now is the time to stand up and be counted. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW. And let's get the job done right this time. Let's help Louisiana NOW while it makes a difference! Let's NOT let BP get away with the same crap that Exxon did in Alaska. PLEASE take the time. This is really the most important thing you can do in this decade!

7. It would be nice, now that he's accepted responsibility, for him to demonstrate intent
to demand ACCOUNTABILITY.

I won't hold my breath.
