1. I heard somewhere that he was being considered for a news anchor
on some station. I didn't remember that it was MSNBC.

4. Is that all he was getting?
OK, I don't like him, because he's a hypocrite. He bolstered his reputation by going after sex workers.

would have been OK with me.

16. Nobody does time for getting a hooker. It is a misdemeanor!
He was never charged, because he was not "caught in the act" of committing a crime. It is doubtful anything could be "proven"

Nonetheless:

He reigned as governor
He destroyed his polical aspirations
He was publicly humiliated

The guy has a right to earn a living.

17. How about a fine?
Loss of his law license?

Yes, he has a right to earn a living, and I have the right to turn the channel when he comes on, or vote against him if he should appear on a ballot. He's lost any credibility that he's had, and that makes him worthless in the eyes of those who would be subjected to his advice on a TV show, or his political decisions should he decide to seek elected office.

19. Again that would require either a conviction or a Plea. and since he was never charged.

23. I am not saying he is a saint... just saying that the notion of Jail time is nuts/
Particularly for what is involved , but specifically because he was never charged.

He has lost a lot including a very obvious pathway to the presidency, He's not a particularly sympathetic guy. but It is sad to see a guy with such a bright future fall so fast. ANd again he has the right to make a living and we have the right to forgive him and let him move on.

24. Yes, he lost a few things
But the power to keep and hold respect was always in his hands. He's the one who blew it by saying, do as I say, and not as I do. If MSNBC or Faux, or anybody else wants to put him on their private payroll, that's their business, but don't expect me to watch.

18. CLearly obvious in retrospect that he was taken down by Wall St
... they were digging in his closet because they knew he was digging in theirs.

Yes it was stupid of him to have anything for them to dig up, but really, find me a politican or businessman anywhere who hasn't boinked around when given the opportunity.

As the old anti-Bush bumper sticker says "What's worse, screwing an intern, or screwing an entire country?"

15. He'd be a great MSNBC version of Dr. Drew
Mix a little MTV apice in the MSNBC--maybe that will bring up the ratings.

9. That's the ticket.
Sweet. Find a dead intern in your office, get a national TV hosting job...but you have to be a republican to pull that off.

20. I've no problem with that
"Let he who is without sin," etc. And Spitzer was fantastic when dealing with white-collar crooks as New York's AG!

21. The problem is that Spitzer himself did cast the first stone.
He prosecuted people for prostitution.

That's the big problem people have with Spitzer: the smug hypocrisy of the guy, not the hiring of prostitutes as such.
