Salon: New threat to GOP's Senate chances |
|
From Salon piece: You know what's going to be fun? When the GOP doesn't do as well as expected this November, and everybody starts blaming everybody else. Shouldn't have got your hopes up so high, guys. http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2010/06/02/gop_blows_senate_races/index.html?source=newsletter

1. Kirk certainly will have a tougher time bouncing back then Blumenthal did. |

I live in CT and Blumenthal was always well liked before this. He seems to have gotten past it and McMahon is a bad candidate and easy to run against. Kirk will have a tough time. And then there is Toomey, whom Sestak is currently ahead of in the polls. Crist is ahead of Rubio...not a Dem win but not a potential Rethug win either. Reid is catching up in his race. Boxer is ahead of Fiorina.

2. Can't decide what I want more |
|
Sure, I want the Dems to have a better-than-expected fall. But I can't decide if it's more because I want Dems in office (I do!), or if I just want to see the pundits' heads explode. For now, at least, they've obviously gone "All in" on the idea that the Dems are doomed. I'd just love to watch all day long if it doesn't happen. So I"m going to keep hoping!

3. Kirk Is A Lame Candidate... |
|
The teabaggers don't like him and this "ooops" is going to hurt him with them as much as he does with other voters...nothing worse than lying about your military record...especially when there's nothing to brag about.
Kirk has little name recognition downstate and this will be his "introduction"...not a good thing when he's gonna need those areas if he stands any chance to counter the large Decmoratic vote in Cook County and suburban St. Louis. I don't even see Cpt. Kirk carrying his own North Shore district...and just opened the seat to a Democrat.
