9. I miss donuts
Well, actually, Krispy Kreme donuts. There are few foods I miss from my pre-Celiac life, but that's definitely one. Oh, wait, I just got way off subject. Sorry.

14. Thanks, I guess
It's not curable but it is completely controllable, even more so than diabetes, with the appropriate diet. And while I miss the Krispy Kremes, my health is much better than ever now that I'm not destroying my gut, one glutenous item at a time. And it's been 8 years now, so I hardly remember my diet before Celiac.

And I'm currently discovering middle age butt spread, so I don't think my consumption of food is necessarily less, just different.

15. I cant help but think looking at these folks....
.... if *I* am sometimes amazed at the notion that we actually have an African American President, imagine how THEY must feel .... they were alive during segregation ... and even if they didn't witness it first hand, they saw the drama played out on TV or knew how things were down here in the South.

Amazing.

17. question: "why will it take 10 years to close the hole completely..."
POTUS: "it's a matter of money, it's very expensive to do this .... says we shoudln't have had the hole in the first place but the budget assumes the hole would be there ... to immediately close it would blow the budget.... 50% discount on drugs starting next year and costs will be reduced each year after that"

34. I've always had an idea for a great game show....
..... called "Stump the Obama" .... line up a rotating panel of experts, see if they can ask him a question he doesn't know the answer to.

Oprah, (when seeing one of the WH Christmas trees) said, "are those dried hydrangeas?" .... to which the President shrugged his shoulders and said, "I dunno.." and then laughed.

That's the closest I've seen to anyone doing it. lol

I would challenge anyone (with a somewhat open mind) to sit though this presentation and not come away feeling much better about health care reform. Frankly, I've never seen a better "political pitchman" (I use that term with great affection and admiration).

Medicare Advantage was being overpaid (by the government) without increased benefits .... money was going to Insurance companies profits. Talking about the 85% medical loss ratios that companies must adhere to.

31. Senior asking (on the phone) how the bill will help seniors who want to live independantly...
... you can tell that stuck some heart strings with the President, "you sound like a woman after my own heart." Says he asked his grandmother if she wanted to come live with him in Chicago "do you think I'm an idiot?! Do you think I want to trade 80 degree weather to go live in Chicago!?"

Talks about how she lived in her apt to until the end of her life.

POTUS says he wants to make sure Medicare is reimbursing home health care .... or house keeping services for those who cant do it themselves.
