Every time I hear Tweety's Tea Bag Special promo, I think it's a spoof.
If you watch any MSNBC you've seen it -- Chris Matthews is doing a special on the "rise of the New Right." The Tea Baggers. The promo starts with a clip of Rand Paul whining about taking our government back, but it sounds so fake, so whiny, so un-unenthusiastic, that I swear it's a promo for SNL or something every time I hear it.

People take this fake "doctor" seriously? Shame on Tweety for giving them airtime, and treating them as serious contenders. But then again...maybe this is a set-up. Maybe Tweety will do an exposé, and not a fluff piece. Something tells me otherwise.

1. I can't recall exactly what he said tonight, but when he was
talking about the special show, it sounded like he was going after them as beeing nuts. We'll see soon.

BTW, that's the way Rand talks all the time. I laughed when I heard (today) that he was complaining about his opposers criticizing him for letting his medical license expire. HA! H apparently is quite sure f a win in Nov, huh?

12. I have no love for Chris Matthews but
I dont think this is going to be a fluff piece at all. He has said repeatedly that he thinks these people are dangerous and uninformed, he did a really good interview last year with that dick that brought the gun to the Obama rally, he made the guy look really stupid.

16. I remember that. I warmed up to him and started watching his show.
Then he went off the wall on the white firefighters case (said the ethnic whites had a special claim on jobs in the FD and PD), but was put in his place by some guests he had on, so I was mollified.

His going off on Dick Blumenthal just enraged me. He played chickenhawk crudely and totally dismissed a good public servant. That showed me something about Matthews' character, a real defect in the guy.

A little while back he joined the MSNBC chorus about Obama not showing his emotions and when that didn't go anywhere it was Obama didn't do enough.

Now I'm off of him again and won't watch his show. I might watch the special on the rise of the RW but will do so carefully...with remote in hand for a firm switch of channel...

19. I dont watch him much anymore either
He lost me when he attacked Alan Grayson for even suggesting that they might pass the Health Care Bill in reconciliation. So I absolutely have no love for him, but he has no love for the radical right. Like I said he repeatedly calls them uninformed and dangerous. I have a feeling that the documentary will be good.

I posted excerpt further down in thread. It's not fluff. Not telling us anything we don't already know, but it looks like a good documentary of this "movement".

nutball alex from Iron Planet or whatever his site is I see that he has really lost his damn mind since a black man became President.

I watched him during bush's term and he was angry but he seemed to go completely off his rocker when Obama became President. Matthews is promoting them as though they are a force to be reckon with and that Dems are just a bunch of crazy liberals...

I'm not going to find out, but I will say that no matter how hard-hitting it is, he can't make up for giving them several hours of free ad time these past weeks

18. See this is one of the problems I have with Tweet..
he seems to think he is telling us something we don't already know. We the public have been talking about this and other issues for years, once he gets a whiff of something he tries to dissect it and put his spin on it as though we are suppose to be in shock.

His problem is that when he is talking he is talking to a specific audience who he seems to think that they are the only people in this country.

True then, true now:
----
Listen to the victim, abused by the system
The basis is racist, you know that we must face this.
"It can't happen here". Oh yeah?
"Take a look around at the cities and the towns."

See them hunting, creeping, sneaking
Breeding fear and loathing with the lies they're speaking
The knife, the gun, broken bottle, petrol bomb
There is no future when the past soon come.

And when they come to ethnically cleanse me
Will you speak out? Will you defend me?
Or laugh through a glass eye as they rape our lives
Trampled underfoot by the right on the rise

(CHORUS)
"You owe us..."....Ich Bin Ein Auslander (x4)
("You owe us everything")... Ich Bin Ein Auslander
Welcome to a state where the politics of hate
Shout loud in the crowd "Watch them beat us all down"
There's a rising tide in the rivers of blood
But if the answer isn't violence, neither is your silence

If they come to ethnically cleanse me
Will you speak out? Will you defend me?
Freedom of expression doesn't make it alright
Trampled underfoot by the rise of the right

(CHORUS)

20. Here's some info on the special
BTW, yes I intend to watch it.

Chris Matthews has talked to a range of conservative thinkers for the special “Rise of the New Right,” which debuts at 7 p.m. Wednesday on MSNBC.

The cable news channel says that Mathews asks: “Who are the people on the New Right? What do they want? And how do they intend to get it?”

Matthews interviewed former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, Orly Taitz of the Birther movement and Internet radio host Alex Jones.

Will you watch?

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2010/06/msnbcs-chris-matthews-explores-rise-of-the-new-right.html

RW site InfoWars claims to have been sent the script by an MSNBC Insider.

TITLE ANIMATION: RISE OF THE NEW RIGHT, A HARDBALL DOCUMENTARY WITH CHRIS MATTHEWS

CHRIS ON CAM

DON’T TREAD ON ME. THE GADSDEN FLAG HAS BECOME THE SYMBOL OF THE NEW RIGHT – IT’S FLOWN AT TEA PARTIES, ANTI-GOVERNMENT RALLIES, AND MILITIA GROUP TRAININGS SESSIONS, EVEN BY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.

IT’S THE SAME FLAG THAT FLEW IN THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION AS A WARNING AGAINST BRITISH OPPRESSION. BUT THIS TIME THE ENEMY IS NOT A FOREIGN KING BUT THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

THE ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA HAS REIGNIGHTED THE RIGHT. THEY ARE ANGRY — ABOUT THE ECONOMY, HEALTH CARE, AND GOVERNMENT SPENDING. ANGRY AT WHO THE PRESIDENT IS, ANGRY THAT OUR COUNTRY IS NOT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE, COULD BE, OR ONCE WAS.
