White House hammers Barton, says "members from both parties should repudiate his comments"
Edited on Thu Jun-17-10 10:54 AM by jefferson_dem
From Press Secretary Robert Gibbs:

"What is shameful is that Joe Barton seems to have more concern for big corporations that caused this disaster than the fishermen, small business owners and communities whose lives have been devastated by the destruction. Congressman Barton may think that a fund to compensate these Americans is a ‘tragedy’, but most Americans know that the real tragedy is what the men and women of the Gulf Coast are going through right now. Members from both parties should repudiate his comments."

10. Hundred bucks says the unreccer had a peace symbol avatar.
Apparently they don't like it when Democrats demonstrate that Republicans care more about corporate profits than the people.

6. More from Gibbs...
"shameful" Rep Barton seems to have more concern for BP than the devastated Gulf "fishermen, small biz owners & communities."
