Let us not forget who the real enemy is.......
I was listening to Randi's show today while I was at work and I heard her discuss the article linked below. It is an article about an anonymous tea party individual who basically brags about their plans to prevent Dems from winning this fall and their plans to take down organizations that support the Obama agenda. In which ACORN was their first and successful test case.

I know there are many on the left who believe Obama is not the right guy for the job because he is not progressive enough. Many who are of this mind set have stated they are willing to sit out this election cycle in order to show their disgust and disappointment. To those individuals I ask that you read this article, these are our real enemies.

These individuals are people who sit and plot in bars about ways in which to ambush Dem candidates for the sole purpose of putting these incidents out over the internet. Not to mention the fake mailers they’ll be sending out to certain districts. These same individuals took down an organization like ACORN just because they could. They have infiltrated union gatherings. What I find so maddening about ACORN debacle is that this organization helped those in our society without a voice but yet when they were under attack from the right wing media our members in congress gave NO voice to ACORN. The ease in which they were able to assist in ACORN's demise should give us all pause.

This article also points out which many here are aware of, the mass media machine those on the right benefit from. They are out to target Dems and any candidate that does not share their agenda and they will play as dirty as they need to in order to accomplish this goal. I hope those who have decided to sit out this election cycle will reconsider after reading this article. We can't allow these guys to continue to win!!!!

1. When Sarah Palin becomes the Republican nominee, the Dems
will come out and vote for Mr. Obama. I'm a little disappointed in this administration, but not THAT much.

3. Sorry, I forgot to say Welcome to DU. Your very first post was
excellent and interesting. Keep up the good work but expect some people on DU to jump on you just because you're new. There's more good people on DU than bad. That very first post can be a little scary.:toast:

4. Sometimes Democrats shoot themselves in the foot
In the recent Arkansas Democratic Senate primary, for example, both Obama and Bill Clinton actively supported the incumbent over the more progressive challenger. It was particularly distressing to see Clinton getting involved in this, since he was essentially campaigning against what he, himself was 30 years ago. And to show her gratitude for their support, the winner, incumbent Blanche Lincoln, promptly sided with the Republicans and voted for the Murkowski Amendment. And her fellow Senator, ostensibly Democratic Mark Pryor, also did what many predicted he would do, and voted for the amendment

5. "These same individuals took down an organization like ACORN just because they could"
The could because- despite their large majorities in Congress, timid Democrats refused to stand up to them.

People wondering why base constituencies are disillusioned need look no further than this case.
