Nothing confirmed yet. I imagine the guessing games will be like this until the WH talks.

1. More and more "experts" are saying he really has no other choice, and Obama
has no choice than to accept it.

Just read a clip that McChrystal has fired one of his aides as a result of this.

4. Or did he resign?

The aide is saying he resigned, but insiders are saying he was fired.

Resigned sounds a lot better than fired.

9. You always accept a resignation.
I think McChrystal is gone tomorrow, but one never knows...

16. Not always

General Grant offered to resign but Lincoln turned him down.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

20. I don't think Patton offered to resign. Truman fired him anyway.

2. Accept it!

He has to go.

And not only because of the Rolling Stone article. He should have been court-martialed after the Tillman scandal.

10. No family should have to go through what the Tillman family did.
It's horrible to lose a son at war, then to find out the events surrounding his death were part of a cover up. Yes, McChrystal should have been dealt with then, but Idiot Drunk didn't really care about the troops.

14. I can't imagine the emotional turmoil it caused the Tillmans

First feeling cheated by losing a son who had told them he didn't support the war any longer, then feeling proud to have lost a son who served his country, then having all those feelings shattered because of a transcripted lie by the very government who sent their son to war.

I personally would have done everything I could to destroy Bush, even if it meant violence.

19. He should be court-martialed for undermining the President!
President O should reject McCrhystal's resignation and cout-martial him instead. Then, after he's convicted of the court-martial offense (and make no mistake, he would be convicted) he should be fired!

6. Tillman's mother tried to get Obama to drop McChrystal

But she received no response from the administration.

17. Good. That's what should do
I haven't read the entire article, but I did finally read some quotes from it: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/22/mcchrystal-rolling-stone_n_620795.html#s103734

It was worse than I thought it was. This guy and his entire staff have to go.
